Nokia Lumia 920

We briefly mentioned the Windows Phone partnership with We Are JUXT, a community of mobile photography enthusiasts (www.wearejuxt.com). Recently, ten of the most influential members of the We Are JUXT community were challenged to shoot exclusively with a Nokia Lumia 920. 

The group were asked to shoot exclusively with the Windows Phone for an eight day period and share a few tips on how to take the best pictures. The end result: a respectable collection of tips on not only how to take better photos but how to approach mobile photography as a whole.

It’s coming. Sometime in July we expect Nokia to formally announce the Lumia “EOS”. The device that we think will help further push the adoption of Windows Phone into the mainstream. It’s going to be hard for any news outlet to ignore a 41MP sensor on a phone. That being said, it’s always nice to see the device show up online before that official announcement.

Nokia is currently dominating the most popular smartphone list over at mobile retailer Expansys USA. The unexpected twist to this story is that Samsung is also helping the platform out with the ATIV S taking the number one spot. Following Samsung's flagship Windows Phone is the Nokia Lumia 520, Lumia 920 and Lumia 620 in second, third and fourth positions respectively.

The last time we saw the Nokia Lumia 920 on sale at Walmart was back when it first went on sale for $49. The phone has been out for over half a year now, but it’s still one of the best Windows Phone devices you can get. Deal after the break!

We're already aware of just how effective the camera on the Lumia 920 is, but here are some shots taken by Fabian Pimminger in Vienna, Austria. Yes, they look that good. Now we understand that a fairly expensive camera will take just as good (if not better) shots, but we're talking about a Windows Phone here. You know, a device that you use for making calls and playing some Angry Birds when work becomes rather boring.

Back at the end of March, a new color variant of the Lumia 920 was spotted on Nokia Jordan’s Facebook page. The green Lumia 920 was adorned with mint leaves near the bottom and it was unclear if it was an April fool’s joke or a tease (it was actually posted on March 28th, making an April 1st joke a bit untimely).

Now, E-Store Australia is listing a Lumia 920 in green, including the IDs--Part No: NOK0120 MPN: 060585--on their site with an asking price of $792 (or about $763 in USD). The device is of course out of stock with no ETA either.

We’ve seen quite a few projects come from our forums and the latest is from AccentAE86, who took the concept of Nokia’s “dual shot” Lumia 620 shell design and applied it to his Lumia 920.

For those who aren’t familiar, “dual shot”, especially on the Green Lumia 620, is actually a two-layer yellow and blue shell that results in a bright green color. It’s an interesting new design language that Nokia is evidently experimenting with and something we hope to see in future devices.
