Fabian Pimminger took his Lumia 920 to the Alps for some skiing. Utilising the GoPro case purchased through Nokia, he mounted the Lumia 920 to his chest and picked up some speed, showing off the beautiful sights one can experience when traversing up and down the slopes.

Take the optical image stabilization found in the Nokia Lumia 920 and combine it with a sport makes the North Korea situation look stable and you’ll have the following video. Nokia UK teamed up with Ryan Doyle (free running World Champion) and parkour genius Will Sutton to produce an awesome video showing off the stabilization in the Lumia 920. Don’t worry if you’re not sure of the difference between freerunning and parkour (c’mon, is there really one?). Just enjoy the video after the break.

[Update: Nokia Care US is now claiming that this is for AT&T users, and it should be live. Our device is now updated at 1:22pm ET...]

While a lot of Lumia 920 owners are getting the 1308 firmware (which is busted for AT&T users, having been recently halted), Nokia is pushing out a follow up to it numbered 1314. That update, as far as we know, has not actually started to go to devices and it’s not currently on Nokia’s Navifirm server (the highest is 1310 for China’s Lumia 920T).

But it may be real close...

It was reported a few weeks ago that Nokia was preparing a firmware revision for the Lumia 920 (and other Windows Phone 8 Lumias) that would continue to bring Nokia’s vision of how a Windows Phone should be to fruition.

That update is now being referred to as PR2.0 and we have an exclusive quick glimpse of some of those new features for you.

There's nothing worse than your Windows Phone taking some physical damage as the appearance of a smartphone is fairly important, especially when it's a Lumia 920 or other Windows Phone. There's really only one instance when an issue can prove more irritating and that's when the software (or a combination of it and hardware) royally breaks and thus bricking the device. How useful is a bricked Windows Phone? Well, it's good paperweight, I suppose. This is what happened to my poor white Lumia 920. Let me tell you a short story of what happened and how quickly the issue was resolved by Nokia.

We've been tipped by Matt (known around the web as @RogueCode - he used to fire up some content for Windows Phone Central) that a few drunken friends have attempted to smash up a Nokia Lumia 920. The Corning Gorilla Glass really shines when battered by a beer bottle.

Smartphone Madness 2013
Vote for the Nokia Lumia 920 to knock out the Blackberry Z10 in the LAPTOP Smartphone Madness finals!

While we have the Windows Phone App Star contest winding down, we have another March Madness style contest reaching the finals. Laptop Magazine is running the "Smartphone Madness 2013" contest to see which smartphone on the market is the most popular.

The field of sixteen smartphones has been widdled down to two with our Nokia Lumia 920 facing the Blackberry Z10 in the finals.

Currently the Lumia 920 has a very comfortable lead over the Z10 (62.8% to 37.2%) but we shouldn't see this as an easy victory. Our friends over at Crackberry.com have sounded the alarm so this may end up being a close contest when all is said and done.

Every vote counts and to help keep the Lumia 920 and Windows Phone out in front, head on over to Laptop's site and vote. Voting ends Monday, April 8th at 9am EST so spread the word and get out the vote!

Thanks, everyone, for the tips!

Microsoft is at it again. Challenging the competition to see how things stack up against the Windows Phone.

This round, Ben Rudolph (a.k.a. Ben the PC Guy) takes on the Samsung Galaxy S3 with a Nokia Lumia 920 to see which takes the steadiest video. The optical stabilization on the Lumia 920 may make this an unfair fight but in the end, the video has less bounce and is more blur-free.

Earlier this week we addressed the ongoing connectivity problems users are experiencing with their Nokia Lumia 920s, specifically on AT&T (global users do not appear to be affected, though we’re not certain). The issue results in slowed down data connections, missed calls/test messages or on occasion no data at all, even if only temporarily and it is tied directly to the recent firmware update that rolled out in the last 10 days on AT&T.

Nokia Care US has now responded in a tweet to a customer regarding the update (and future fix) with the following:  “We're aware & update has been temporarily paused. New update will be available in the near future. We'll keep you posted.”
