Nokia marketing Lumia in India with a flash mob

Nokia India Marketing

Nokia India has been marketing the Lumia 800 at shopping centres in five cities, ZOMGitsCJ was invited to the event, which turned out to be a flash mob performance at the Ambience Mall, Gurgaon. While it's not a live music stream on a tower like the show in London late last month, it's a good show to grab the attention of shoppers passing by. Also, the Nokia Arch is set up.

Check out a video of the flash mob performance after the break.

Source: ZOMGitsCJ; Thanks, Clinton, for the heads up!

Nokia marketing Lumia in India with a flash mob

What drives me nuts about WPCentral is that they make it sound like riots broke out over getting a Lumia in India, rather than Nokia paying a bunch of performers to dance at a mall. WpCentral does provide great reviews and information, but they overhype these phone releases far too much. Then they tend to ignore the real scoop that a lot of us are totally frustrated using our Windows phones becuase the keyboard vanishes when we type every 10 minutes. Sooner or later that will cause a real flash mob...

@woodie7711
So that gives you an excuse for making ignorant racist remarks?? What do your comments have to do with your frustration with Windows Phone?

Not sure how you get riots are breaking out in India for the Lumia from this article, and then somehow relate that to your keyboard disappearing.

Your keyboard is disappearing because of one or more background apps.  Disable the background app(s) causing the problem (discovered via the process of elimination).  For me, it was HTC Hub and my weather app.

Today, I received a new HTC Hub and turned on the HTC Hub background task to see if the keyboard still disappears with it on.  I just leave the weather app background execution off (don't check the weather that often).

I have not experienced the disappearing keyboard issue alot.  Maybe once or twice.  Overall, I absolutely love the WP7 experience and would not trade it for anything else.

Nice idea, poor execution. I bet nobody in the mall, nor those watching this go viral on YouTube would realize Nokia paid for it.

Nokia == lame period.  Why the hell the flashmobs are done in shopping malls at Nokia Kiosk? It's just an Ad-Dancing not a flash mob...
and they should have done this in bengaluru or Hyderabad....definetely not in Delhi..
