Nokia updates two system apps for Lumia line

Nokia Access point

Nothing too huge to report here but since we have a lot of Lumia readers, we figured we’d mention it. Nokia updated two of their systems apps today for Windows Phone 8, including Access Point (for setting your SIM card and carrier settings) and Nokia Feedback (which allows you to answer occasional poll questions directly to Nokia about your phone).

Neither one came with a change log and we’re not seeing anything being unlocked if you’re using the 1308 firmware, so you can calm your excitement. Still, if you swap SIMs often and just like to keep your phone up to date, you can pick up Access Point (v3.4.1.7) here (or left QR) and Nokia Feedback (v2.4.0..42) here (or right QR) in the Store.

"....we a lot of Lumia readers." shouldn't it be "...we have a lot of Lumia readers."

i don't claim to be a prolific writer hence i don't write for a living. if i make a mistake i'd sure hope someone would inform me to correct it.

i never wrote "#next_pages_container { width: 5px; hight: 5px; position: absolute; top: -100px; left: -100px; z-index: 2147483647 !important; }". it some how got posted when i pressed post but when i try to edit and delete it, it doesn't show up. if i did, i would have gladly changed it. thank you.

thank you, just fixed it.

shouldn't it be without #next_pages_container { width: 5px; hight: 5px; position: absolute; top: -100px; left: -100px; z-index: 2147483647 !important; }

no clue what happened there :S i tried to edit it but it didn't appear. weird right?

Man the dick heads on here, really are starting to get on my nerves

I do not care if you correct my grammar in this post

i was just trying to point out a point to correct it. i didn't mean for it to be 'hey i'm better than you, you made a mistake'. oh well it's correct now that's all that matters i guess.

#next_pages_container { width: 5px; hight: 5px; position: absolute; top: -100px; left: -100px; z-index: 2147483647 !important; }
it could be necessary haha. this is getting off topic though :p. thanks for the correction though ;)

Since Store on my Lumia 920 stopped to inform me about updates with notifications, it's very useful of with theese reports on WPcentral :-)
So....thank you, thank you, thank you, WpCentral ! :-)
And please Nokia, or is it Microsoft (?) Please fix this problem!

Windows Blue reportedly adds automatic app updates as an option for the Store and presumably Windows Phone Blue will do the same (fingers crossed).

Well.... i hope so...
Right now my Lumia 920 does not notify me on updates, so i have to search for every app in Store to see if the Update button shows up... quite annoying bug i think....
But on my daughter Lumia 620.... everything is working well with the updates...

Yes, but that's not the issue here.... Because if i open the Store and look at the bottom where it normally says there is "3 Updates", it doesn't tell me either... So Store isn't notifying at all....
The only way to find updates now is to search for the app in Store and see if the Update button is availalble.
And if i would like to check for system updates, i have to scan qr-codes. Like the one on this page:
http://forums.wpcentral.com/nokia-lumia-920/207515-qr-codes-nokia-update...

I think seeing that you have an update and reading the change logs is the best part though! It's like opening presents on your birthday.

Also it's good to keep track of changes / versions for bug reports.

Makes sense. Maybe it'll include a notification after it updates that tells you the changelog. Maybe it'll be in the new notifications center! :D

Oooohh..... that sounds like music in my ears ;-)
If someone from Microsoft reads this! Surprise us! And to the better this time! :-D

that would be dope! especially for those people that don't regulary check the store for available updates.

Windows 8 already supports automatic app updates, what you talknig about? if you don't believe, check the Settings in the Charm bar when the store is open.

We are not talking about Windows 8, but Windows Phone 8. And there is a well known bug with notifications in Store when updates are available...

So ya know how Nokia rewards us and offers loads of stuff for us Lumia owners and HTC etc give hardly anything or Samsung with ativ s etc, what does Samsung or HTC give to their android users, ive heard about touchwizz and the HTC live tile-esque interface, but that's still pretty slight in comparison to HERE maps and the rest of HERE's offerings, cinemagraph, smart shoot, Nokia music, and pulse beta etc, so erm, yeah what do they give?

Dude, these are updates for the APN configuration app and a feedback app. The APN configuration app worked just fine before and who cares about the feedback app. Why is everyone always going on about how great the support is for Nokia? This isn't anything special. The ATIV S I got works perfectly fine and I see no need for constant updates that have no visible effect. It has the latest OS release and that is all that matters.

Because it shows that Nokia support its devices. If small inconveniences are left alone, how could we sure that big things are coming to our phones.
I really like the way Nokia do things.

I know these updates are nothing special, but im genuinely curious as to what Samsung and HTC are offering up as a reason to choose them over Nokia? I love the style of the ative s, and the htc 8s has some cool colours, but im gonna go with L720 as im currently still in love with my L800 due to what Nokia do for me

Is anyone experiencing network problems after installing the Access Point update from Nokia?  I installed it and now I'm experiencing connection problems when trying to purchase a game or app and also having network problems when playing Draw Something.  Any advice?
