Official NY Waterway app enters the Windows Phone Store after a couple of years on iOS and Android

NY Waterway (nywaterway.com), the largest private ferry operator in the United States, has recently launched its official Windows Phone app. It has been available on iOS and Android since 2012, but customers who are also Windows Phone users can now use it on their phones. With this app, customers can purchase paper-free NY Waterway tickets without lines or vending machines, and use their phone as a ticket with or without an Internet connection.

In other news, Instagram for Windows Phone gets Direct and Video support, Twitter gets updated with a new UI and Google announces that all their services are coming to WP in the form of native apps.

Well, now let's get back to reality

All these official apps showing up is great news. I wonder if everyone is finally buying in to WP, or buying in to what 8.1 has to offer.

Wow, with only 35,000 passengers a day for NY Waterways, there is no excuse for other organizations with much larger potential user bases to not get on board with Windows Phone!

Agreed.  This was the one I was waiting for.  When people complain about the app divide it is these types of local and extremely useful apps that we are still missing.  It is a very welcome addition to my phone.
