Official WorldMate app for Windows Phone to be available next week

WP Central

WorldMate (website) is a popular mobile travel organiser, which has witnessed success on the iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Nokia (S60) and Windows Mobile. The Windows Phone app will feature an itinerary organiser that will enable users to share WorldMate content with the community.

WorldMate for Windows Phone will also be able to connect to Facebook and LinkedIn accounts for convenient sharing, as well as the ability to check out who's nearby to trip destinations. It's a must-have calendar for any soul who travels often. We last covered the app when it was named runner-up at the Microsoft Acceleration Week.

WorldMate is set to be available next week. We'll be sure to alert you when it's live and have a quick video walkthrough published.

Does it provide flight status? If so, I'm interested!
EDIT: Looks like all the features I'm interested in (flight status, alerts, etc.) require a Gold membership. I'll stick with FlightAware until something better comes out..

One of the few killer apps I miss from BlackBerry is BlackBerry Travel (autoloaded itineraries received via email including all flights, rental cars, hotels, frequent flyer info, live flight status and gate changes, destination weather, automatically added to calendar etc.). I've been trying to find a replacement on WP. So far I'm trying Tripit. I look forward to seeing what Worldmate has to offer. One thing I don't get is the "social" aspect. Do you really want everyone to know when you're away from home? Where you are you going? Creepy...

Used to use it on the old Windows Mobile platform, and it was a great app. Looking forward to it on WP7

Used it on my "old" Nokia E72. Loved the weather updates via an accented female voice!
