Payday 2 plans to shoot its way to the Xbox One

payday 2

Payday 2, one of the best co-op first person shooter games of 2013, will be making its way to Microsoft's Xbox One console at some point, although a release date has not been announced.

The Xbox One version will be called Payday 2: Crimewave Edition and will also be released for the PlayStation 4. Co-developed by Starbreeze and Overkill Games, the Crimewave Edition will include new features and additional content compared to the older PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, but details were not revealed.

Payday 2, a sequel to 2011's Payday: The Heist, features players teaming up to perform a number of crimes, including bank robberies, as they try to fight off the cops. Payday 2 sold 1.53 million copies a month after it was released in August 2013, with publisher 505 Games claiming 80 percent of those sales came from digital downloads.

This week at E3 2014, 505 Games announced that players of the Xbox 360 version will soon be able to get some of the post-release DLC content that the PC players have been able to access since August.

Payday 2 plans to shoot its way to the Xbox One

Sucks for them, because Battlefield: Hardline seems to be hitting that game type, after seeing the E3 demo. I tried this on PC during a free weekend, and it's OK, but somewhat clunky and frustrating.

I kinda doubt that Battlefield: Hardline will be like Payday 2. Unless BH suddenly turned into L4D with RPG elements (really, that's all Payday is) I don't think there will be competition.

Did they say battlefield was going to be co-op? Also if this game was out rgr hard-line, then hardliners will be like 'it'.

WPC App via Nexus 5.

In my opinion, battlefield hard line is nothing like Payday. I got closed beta access for BF, and i can still feels like battlefield. Payday is a great and challenging co-op game! Emphasis on co op.

...this isn't just another shooter. This involves a lot of teamwork and patience. And can be challenging. This is nothing like call of duty and battlefield.

I'll second this. It's a whole new beast, nothing I've ever played like it. A first person where you are truly rewarded for teamwork and can easily see the benefits of it.

I don't understand why people like this game so much. The gameplay is inconsistent and cheap and the graphics are from 2002. This game has nothing going for it!

It's the challenge of getting a job done perfectly. And graphics don't make a game great. I'm not sure why you say the game play is cheap and inconsistent.

You may simply be plagued by the 360 version. Ps3 has gotten support while the 360 version lagged at v1 for a long time, making it a no contest between the two in terms of playability and content.

The big attraction for me is that Payday 2 involves subtlety and communication more than most games. Good balance between short term and long term progress. You actually have to watch your fire rather than just shoot at everything that moves. Great wins are the ones where not a single bad guy shoots at you, as opposed to the one with the biggest body count. Plus the game has a ton of attitude and a premise that's pretty unique (that is, until Hardline comes along, though I don't see it doing as well). Also, on the PC side these guys have been great with DLC. Reasonable prices, occasional free updates, significant and diverse content... I could go on.

So your a 30+ year old guy with no job no responsibility's still living with your parents begging them to buy you x game or you'll throw yourself in the floor screaming and crying till they say stop you grown bitch. Your one of the lucky one's.
