Plants vs Zombies is the killer Deal of the Week for Xbox LIVE on Windows Phone

WP Central

Are you a fan of plants? Do you hate zombies? Then if you haven’t already purchased Plants vs. Zombies from PopCap Games, now is your chance because it’s the Deal of the Week!

Plants vs. Zombies is up there with one of the best Xbox LIVE titles for Windows Phone. It has cute graphics, hilarious and bizarre gameplay and it has an addictive quality that makes many users unable to put it down. For these reasons we give it a big thumbs-up and highly recommend it.

The game mostly involves planting plants that shoot at various zombies attacking your house. Variations in plants, ammo, tactics and zombies keep this alternate-tower defense game from getting stale.

WP Central

All is not perfect though as PvZ hasn’t had an update since January and it is still missing proper Mango support (gah!) which is a heck of a shame since it’s so easy to fix. Hopefully PopCap can get around to fixing that and maybe adding a few bonuses for the rest of us?

You can read our full review of Plants vs Zombies to get an idea on our thoughts and our interview with the developer, PopCap. Otherwise, grab the free trial here in the Marketplace for Windows Phone. The game normally fetches for $4.99 but is on sale for one-week for $2.99. Go!

Don't forget, tonight's new Xbox LIVE is Gun Bros.

Thanks, Thomas, for the tip!

Love the game, have it on the PC, but no Mango support this far into 2012 means no $ from me. Just too lazy develepor!

Residing says:

I've been saying this since this game launched on WP - it will be the first app I download as soon as I get a WP device.  So Q4, it is, provided that Nokia Lumia with Pureview is on the shelves...
In the meantime, PC PvZ!

reb31 says:

Bought - thanks for a new DOTW for a change!

jedijaxpavan says:

I think anyone who loved this game already probably bought it when it came out. I know I did.
Anybody who was waiting for this to be DoTW you better buy. Great addictive gameplay.

kidjenius says:

No mango = no buy. Sorry

Awesome game, second Pop cap title in a row. Thanks for the mention, really glad. You need to be a Team Player like Football Zombie :-D Greetings from Germany

trazer says:

I'd buy, but I have it on android and why pay more for something the dev will not update at all?

sam_1204 says:

I don't think PvZ game is available in Android. It was and till now one of those games I've been searching for in Play Store to download on my Tab phone. No PvZ for Android.

Paul Acevedo says:

The devs have updated it several times. They just never added Fast App Switching support for some reason.

BK-one says:

Bummer, I was thinking $0.99..

mase123987 says:

Doesn't get updated and is a game that has been out for quite some time on WP and even longer on other devices.  This should be $0.99 all the time.  Way too high.  Look at how much full-fledge PC games drop after just a half a year.

namodenamer says:

Sadly no mango.

apRPhle says:

I think it's a great game! Did popcan say for certain they won't be updating the game for window?

Paul Acevedo says:

We'll actually be talking to them about that in the weeks to come... Will report back if we hear anything good.

apRPhle says:

My biggest fear is them saying they're waiting for windows phone 8 and leaving us wp7.5, soon to be wp7.8 guys behind.

Mouthsmasher says:

FINALLY. I've been wanting to buy this since I've had a Windows Phone, but couldn't justify the $5 price tag.

apRPhle says:

Best Tower Defense game EVER! I really do hope they make updates to this game, it'd be a shame not to!

pinacolada says:

no mango .. pathetic

StaticPlaya says:

At last been waiting for this come down in price. I think they read the comments about it needing to be reduced in price.

DavidinCT says:

Great game, no question $4.99 or $2.99 no way, still too much. If this was $0.99 I would jump on it. This should be a perm mark down. $4.99 is too much for any app besides a big Nav app.
I am not buying any more apps, Unless I really need them or is a unreal deal.  With Windows Phone 8 coming out in about 3 months, I'll save some change to get some really good games.

schlubadub says:

No Mango + $3.50 in Australia = no deal :P

djctz says:

I need that good old Mango support before I spend my $!
