Portals 2D is a free download until February 7th

Portals 2D

Should you enjoy Portal on the consoles and PC, then you'll love Portals 2D (by Weesals) on your Windows Phone. Taking an interesting 2D birds-eye route, this indie title feels like a unique game due to the different camera angle from 1st person to the clouds. The concept is exactly the same with cubes, portals, lasers, a portal gun and the requirement of a quick thinking mind.

The most intriguing feature of this Portals 2D is not the superb graphics (vaguely reminiscent of GTA China Town Wars?), but the price - it's available for absolutely nothing until February 7th. You can download Portals 2D from the Marketplace. Note that there are two entries for this app, be sure to download the one we link to.

Thanks gh8421 for the tip!

After playing this for about ten minutes, it's definitely a lot of fun. Seems really well done, smooth, fun, thought-provoking. And for free? Can't go wrong. This game definitely deserves some attention.

Nice game!!Can anyone tell me how to complete the level shown in the middle in the above pic?? :(

Jeebus137 says:

I'm stuck on that one too...maybe the developer forgot to add an extra block...yeah...that must be it...haha.

weesals says:

Haha, no blocks missing :P. You do need every block though, notice there are 3 pits along the bottom to the left of the elevator. ;)

Odog4ever says:

I'm all for a good challenge but I've been stuck on this for a few days. Is there a mechanic I'm not aware of?
Because I can't get portals to stick on that wall near the elevator and lining up the three blocks (one block away) so you would have to hop off the last one diagonally isn't working either.
I don't want to stop playing but...

weesals says:

** Spoiler!! Dont read this comment if you want to finish level 11 yourself **
You need to get all blocks along the top, you can do this by firing a portal to the right of the left most block, and another to the very bottom of the level (~4 blocks in from the left). Push the block through the portal and walk through yourself, then fire a portal on the other side of the block, and another to the top right of the level (make sure this portal is facing to the right), push the block to join with the other 2 and walk through yourself. Finally place a portal along the outer edge along the bottom, and another past all the blocks, and push them all through to create a path to the elevator.
The screenshot below shows what it should look like before the last step.

Is there a way to beat the two last levels without cheating? It seems like there being a hole in the top left of the second to last level is a mistake cause I have to cheat my way into being able to push it. And the new last level.. Don't tell me how to beat it but is it actually possible without shooting portals through your portals and ghosting through to points you shouldn't be able to reach? Points that are above holes?

You are the man!

Nilarko says:

I paid full-price, and glad to do it.
Excellent game.
Windows Phone 7 really needs a great game that only plays on the Windows Phone. Something Exclusive to it to get some attention.
