Quick look: Kik Messenger for Windows Phone 7 [Video]

Today, Microsoft and partner Kik (see website) introduced and showed off Kik Messenger for Windows Phone 7. The app is expected to arrive "in the next few weeks". The IM program has over 3 million users on iPhone and Android, photo sharing and groups.

Here is a quick video tour of the app in action to get an idea of what to expect. Looks good to us.

I couldn't care less about Kik, I've never heard of that messenger before anyway. I wish there'd be a Live messenger app. No, not miyowa.

Doesn't matter if you have not heard of it. 3 million people obviously have, which is great because most people that don't have unlimited texting that I know use this. So no need to be an **** about it!

Wouldn't it just be better to wait for sockets & multitasking? As good as Flory is now, it's still a bit sporadic as I don't always get my wife's messages.

I type about 4x faster than that lolKik Messenger will be a very nice addition to windows phone. If they could implement facebook IM into it, even better. Most likely they wont. But having a reliable and Microsoft-recognized messenger client on my phone is so long overdue!Koki, I recommend checking out the website. Just because you haven't heard of them doesn't mean it isn't good....and Flory sucks. They need to fix their kinks, otherwise kik will come do it for them.

Ok let me take that back...FLory just came out with an update today and it's working just fine on my dell venue pro now. :)

I have my contacts on live messenger and on facebook, not on some "Kik". That's why it's useless for me. Luckily I still have Li'Messenger which somehow does the job.

This is great news! A ton of my friends use Kik and I've been waiting for the WP7 version for months now :D

I really thought Microsoft would make their own messenger app on the phone. So many people I know use MSN messenger on their laptops and phones, I don't understand why WP7 wouldn't do the same. Yes, I know about "Messenger by Miyowa", but that's a 3rd party app that not by Microsoft. I guess I'll have to try Kik when it comes out.

Yeah I thought an integrated messenger would be part of their mango keynote, but it was not. I am getting the sinking feeling we won't see integrated windows live messenger until windows phone 8 (source of my speculation: it's integrated into the stock desktop version of windows 8 from leaked pics)

I am getting the sinking feeling windows phone 8 will be an excuse to revised hardware requirements and leave chassis one phones and WP7
