Review - Incipio Feather Snap On Case for Nokia Lumia 1020

Today in the WPCentral Store, we’re running a special on a case for the Lumia 1020, the Incipio Feather Snap-on. We’ve looked at Incipio’s stuff before and while they can be pricey, they’re solid quality. I happen to have and use this case, so figured I’d do a quick video on it.

The Incipio Feather comes in Cyan, Cherry Blossom Pink/Magenta, Black and Iridescent Gray, with the former two being the best looking, in my opinion, especially if you’re rocking a yellow 1020. What makes the Incipio fun is the cover for the 1020’s massive camera. Now, some may be immediately turned off by this decision to cover the camera housing, which is fine, but I kind of like the different look from standard cases. Hey, Incipio had to try something new, right?

That cover helps protect the front lens element too, seeing as that it has a raised profile. While scratching the 1020’s camera housing or front element is not a huge concern, for those of you who do want protection, this is not a bad choice.

Other than that, the case is fairly standard. It has a soft touch feel to it, protects the corners and edges, which is super important for small drops, and it really doesn’t add anything in terms of bulk.

Check out the short video hands on with it, and if you want one, you can grab it today for just $16, where it normally runs for $25 from our Store. Remember, the Store does do international shipping, and they take Amazon payments, Paypal and Bitcoin! (All sales help support our site to keep it running)

Check out my other Lumia 1020 case reviews here.

Sam Sabri says:

Yeah that case looks awesome. Might need to order one today!

I think I may get cyan and give the pink, errr, magenta, to the lady friend, lol

troylytle says:

I was like, "why does Dan have a magenta case?" Forgot WPCentral theme colors... I'm upset with myself.

TheSnapDude says:

prolly the same color of his panties

Ordeith says:

Does it work with the wireless charging cover installed?

Ordeith says:

Are there any good cases for the 1020 that do?

cameradork says:

No, but if you're brave, you can dissect the charging plate, affix the Qi guts to the back of your phone and then cover it with something like this. I have both this case and the charging plate which I swap out - I was thinking of combining them, but it doesn't seem worth the risk to me and it's easy to go from one to the other.

Ordeith says:

Seems like someone should consider making a case with the wireless charging capability integrated into it.

I wonder if there is a market for such a thing.

Talbot690 says:

I'd buy. I came to the comment section specifically looking for such a case

LennH says:

I have it, it's a good case. The only 'problem' if you can call it that is dust can get trapped between the phone-case boundary and it's a bit tricky to get off.

nakialj says:

Mines the same way

ricbon says:

I heart Incipio since my 4S thats all I get

Hector Cantu says:

i have the black one, and its ok, the only thing that bothers me is that it's get dirty really quickly

Yeah, I imagine that's a trade off with the soft touch feel, as opposed to a glossy case.

teriansilva says:

Same with the incipio case for surface pro 2.

Brswan says:

Looks cool except that nasty color.

I'm curious to know if this magenta case casts any sort of magenta hue on pictures when using the flash? I know some of the other colored cases for the 1020 cause this.

OMG, that pink one is awesome!!

TheSnapDude says:

It goes great when you're in the kitchen making a man a sandwich

zweisamkeit says:

Wow, that's such an original joke!

TheSnapDude says:

It was sarcastic ;) lol

Dan Hubel says:

found the 15 year old.

witterholt says:

I have the grey one for my black 1020 and a cyan one for my black 925. In that way I don't mix up the phones :-). Great cases!

wtma says:

I have the grey one, doesn't look that good on my yellow 1020. It feels nice though, the best aftermarket hardcase for 1020 I'd say, better than Nillkin. Wish they would make the yellow version. Now I end up using the Nokia wireless charging shell most of the time.

Are there any case that makes the phone level when setting on its back?

wtma says:

AFAIK, no there isn't.

mjp14 says:

I disassembled the 1020 wireless charging case and added the coil to this Incipio case and it works like a charm. You can remove/apply the case as normal and the wireless charging works flawlessly. Here it is if anyone is interest. Don't mind my temp tape job. You could obviously attach the coil more permanently if you wanted.!55464&authkey=!AB...

amiraseri says:

What I really wish to have is wireless casing (like the one Nokia made) but with either flip cover, or extra battery, or both. Definitely will buy one. So far using the Nokia's one with front flip attached DIY

Nazmi Lao says:

I prefer cases like these over those which leave the camera pod exposed. Wish they'd sell more of Incipio's case in Malaysia. These are amazing.
