SEGA Gamegear-Master emulator on the way to Windows Phone Marketplace

Filed under:

Sonic's Jewels

Game emulators are always popular and so long as they don't offer the ROMs on board, they seem to be okay in the Windows Phone Marketplace. So it's with great excitement that we're anticipating the first SEGA Gamegear-Master emulator to land within a few days for your purchase.

The emulator, seen above in below in some screenshots, will cost $1.29 and there will be a trial for you to take for a spin. Named Sonic's Jewels, the emulator seems to be a spin off of the popular homebrew app Wario's Jewels 7 (WJ7) and features URL importation for games as well as Skydrive integration. In addition, game saves and even GameGenie codes are supported meaning this should be a fairly solid emulator, assuming the frame-rate and controls are good.

We'll see about getting an early hands on. In the meantime, start looking for some games you may want to play as over 500 are supported.

I'm not sure how these work. What else would I need to do to actually get games on the emulator?

Provide URL of where the ROM is or point it towards your Skydrive account where you have the ROMs stored. Pretty straigtforward.

Skydrive support is only available  in the full version. I also forgot to mention that sound is currently not implemented atm we are working on getting sound in though!

I wouldn't worry too much about sound on my account, I always play my games on the train and fellow commuters get pissed off with excess sound from mobiles :-P

Hell yes. I am a huge Sega fan. I can't wait until Sega starts pushing genesis ports like on ios. I would happily buy em all!!

Hi,
I'm the creator of Sonic's Jewels.
Just 2 things to correct on the emulator : There no cheat codes available in this version and Skydrive explorer is available on trial version (but only two games on the same time in trial).

Would you consider offering a paid version of Wario's Jewels with ROM import via SkyDrive / URL? I'd jump on it immediately.

the trial and paid version can import roms by url or skydrive. Only 2 roms can be present on the phone in the same time with the trial version. No limitation for paid version :)

cool. now where's my scummvm? ;)

Need me some Shining Force Love.

Agreed with Mooncow...SF love would be nice!
