Get your 500px fix with Shoopix for Windows Phone

Odds are you’ve come across 500px if you’re a photographer or just an admirer of good photography. It’s a fast growing online community, portfolio platform, and storefront for many hobbyist and semi-professional photographers. With a gorgeous site compared to Flickr, it quickly established itself as one of the best places to showcase your work. On Windows Phone we don’t have an official app yet, but we do have two solid third party apps. How does newcomer Shoopix stack up against 480px and My 500px? Let’s check it out.

One of my favorite photography websites is 500px, it's got some really impressive work by all types of photographers and is a great place to get inspiration. Another perk is that compared to other photo sites, the layout is clean and fast, so it's easy to navigate with the photos taking center stage. We showed you My 500px for Windows Phone 8 a few days ago and want to present you with another option. An oldie, but goodie - 480px has been updated to take advantage of Windows Phone 8.

If you're a 500px photo website fan, you'll like the new Windows Phone 8 app My 500px. Not only will My 500px let you rotate photos from 500px as your lockscreen but you can also log into your 500px account to view your photos, favorites and "like" images.

You can set the lockscreen by 500px feature, category and sort by ratings, vote counts and other criteria. From the three dot menu you can set the lockscreen rotation cycle from 1 hour to 24 hours.

The Windows Phone 8 lockscreen app Photostream just got a little better.

Photostream already gives you the ability to not only rotate your lockscreen wallpapers from images in your Pictures Hub but PhotoStream will also tapped into Flickr to generate lockscreen wallpapers. The app was recently updated to version 1.2 and allows you to tap into photos on 500px as well.
