angry birds star wars II

Last week, Rovio was kind enough to update all of their Angry Birds games for Windows Phone 8 with new content. This included an update for Angry Birds Star Wars II, which was supposed to bring the Windows Phone version in-line with the December 5th iOS update.

For some reason, the new “Battle of Naboo” levels did not show up for many Windows Phone users after installing the update. We’ll never know what went on there, but it hardly matters any more. Today the game received an update that corrects the issue with the previous patch. At last we can battle for Naboo like the cool kids are doing!

Behold, young Padawans, as Angry Birds Star Wars II is now live on the Store for Windows Phone 8 users—and it’s even a day early from the official September 19 launch date (beating out iOS and Android). What is even more fantastic? Those with a Lumia 520 or other 512 MB devices can get in on the action too.

The game weighs in at 32 MB and will cost you 99 cents (with a free trial). The epic saga continues in the follow up to the original Angry Birds Star Wars game, and we have to admit, it’s looking very fresh.

Rovio has announced that the next instalment in the Angry Birds Star Wars series of games will be launching on Windows Phone. Angry Birds Star Wars II puts the player in control of slinging birds at pigs to battle through levels in a galactic setting. There's a twist, however. You'll also be able to play as the piggies on the pork side of the force and teleport figurines into your game. Sounds rather cool, right?
