In about three and a half weeks we’ll be live from Abu Dhabi where Nokia is expected to release a handful of new devices for Windows Phone and even Windows 8. Of course there will be some Asha devices as well, but you really want to know about the higher-end hardware. Nokia is also known for releasing new software and apps alongside devices. And it looks like an app called StoryTeller is coming for both Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8.

Nokia Lumia 1520 rumored to launch September 26

When the Nokia Lumia 1520 launches it will be the largest Windows Phone device ever. It will be so big that it will sit comfortable in the category of smartphones known as “phablets”. Devices that are much larger than your average smartphone, but smaller than a mini tablet. It will go head to head with the very successful Samsung Galaxy Note devices running Android. These are brave new waters for the Windows Phone platform. And it looks like you might only 15 days away from holding it in your hands.

The popular Twitter profile Evleaks has released a full render of the Lumia 1520, or "Bandit." Previously publishing a screenshot, showing how the new Start screen will be configured on a 1080p display, we can now spot that very same screen capture in the render above. There's not a lot new in the image, except for the rear of the handset where there's no 41MP hump.

Nokia product codenames reveal little in latest leak

Evleaks, the Twitter account that has been behind Windows Phone hardware leaks in the past, has now fired out numerous codenames that are reported to be hints at future handsets from Nokia. These codenames include the "Bandit," which is billed as a 6-inch 'phablet'. While this leak doesn't reveal much, it's handy to have them jotted down somewhere for future reference, should further details eventually emerge.

The Verge is reporting that sources have told them that Nokia will be releasing a phone with a 6-inch screen by the end of the year. The device, which is currently being tested by AT&T under the moniker "Bandit," will be the first Windows Phone-powered phablet, a device that bridges the gap between a phone and a tablet. Back in July, we saw a leaked photo of a 6-inch digitizer for such a device, so this isn't completely shocking, but some more details have been revealed.
