CameraPro for Windows Phone 8 updated, stability added

CameraPro is a feature rich camera app for your Windows Phone 8 device. An update is being pushed out for CameraPro bringing the app to version 1.0.3.

The update should fix the stability issues experiences on HTC Windows Phone 8 devices (8X and 8S) and the Samsung ATIV S. It also adds options to switch between fixed exposure times and exposure compensation for image bracketing and adds the option for manual white balance. The developer does note that the manual white balance feature does not work properly on Nokia Windows Phones.

We've taken a look at two Windows Phone 8 camera apps, ProShot and CameraPro, that give you a decent amount of control over your Windows Phone 8 camera. ProShot has a little friendlier user interface but CameraPro has a few more features.

While both these apps can be appealing to those who are looking for more control over their Windows Phone, do they make a difference where the rubber meets the road? Is the image quality with these two apps better than what the native camera app can produce?

We loaded up CameraPro and ProShot on to the Nokia Lumia 920 to see how image quality shook out.

If you prefer your camera controls up front and in plain sight, you may want to take a gander at the Windows Phone 8 app CameraPro.

While the native camera app tucks the settings up under the three dot menu, CameraPro places them on either side of the screen. On top of that, CameraPro also adds a healthy selection of features that goes well beyond what the native camera app offers. CameraPro is a nice addition to the Windows Phone photography app lineup.
