Windows Phone Central's Roundup of Skin Cases for the Nokia Lumia 900

Over the past few months, we've taken a look at a nice assortment of skin cases for the Nokia Lumia 900 Windows Phone. We had a request to roundup all these cases under one roof and felt like it would be a good detour from the apps and games.

So this week we'll take a break from our typical roundup to take a look at some of the better skin cases for the Nokia Lumia 900.  Some of these cases offer a considerable amount of protection while others are more for cosmetics.  Some are hard shells, some are gel skins, and others are a combination of the two. Next week we'll get back to the games and apps, but for now on with the accessories.

Windows Phone Accessory Review: Otterbox Commuter

Otterbox makes some very nice cases for our Windows Phone. Recently the company released their popular Commuter case for the Nokia Lumia 900 and we've taken it out for a test drive.  The Commuter is very similar to the Case-Mate Tough but beefier.  The rubber sleeve is exposed at the corners of the Windows Phone and protects nicely against falls.  The case also forms a frame that recesses the screen to protect it from scratches.

While the Commuter does provide a nice level of protection it does add noticeable bulk to the Lumia 900.  Bulk some may not find appealing.

Review: OtterBox Commuter Series Case for AT&T Tilt 2

One of the first accessories that I purchase for any smart phone that I’ve ever owned is a case to protect my new investment. I’ve mentioned before that choosing a case for your phone is very similar to the process of choosing the phone itself. A large part of the decision is based on your lifestyle and how you use your device.

OtterBox makes some of the most rugged cell phone cases on the market, though they sometimes sacrifice in the portability/usability department. The OtterBox Commuter Series case makes a reasonable compromise between protection and usability.

Pros:
Tough Case. Nice Fit.
Cons:
Power button hard to access
