Chalkboard, a creative slate for Windows Phone 8

Chalkboard for Windows Phone is just what you would think, a chalkboard app.  It is a blank slate well suited for doodling, a game of tic-tac-toe or jotting down math problems. You would use the chalkboard app just as you would a regular chalkboard, just with less dust.

Chalkboard has eight chalk colors, three backgrounds, and the ability to zoom in/out for the more detailed drawings.  You can also load up to six images to doodle on as well.  Chalkboard comes across as an appealing Windows Phone 8 app for the times you feel the need for a little doodle time or need an easy way to play a friendly game of tic-tac-toe with your friends.

One of the advantages the touchscreen on our Microsoft Surface or other Windows 8 device is the artist uses it presents. You can basically turn your Windows 8 touchscreen into an art canvass.

The Sensu Brush is a tool that can help you draw with not only a stylus point but also mimic brush strokes. It's not your run of the mill Windows 8 accessory but it can come in handy if you like dabbling with art/sketch apps.

If you fancy drawing or just like to doodle out of boredom, Didlr is a fun and fairly simple, easy to use app that will appeal to you. Similar to Draw Something - minus the game aspect and frustration – once you publish your didl, it’ll appear on the stream where the rest of the Didlr community can replay your masterpiece, step by step.

Of course, you can always tap through to the finished product if you don’t want to sit through someone drawing a ridiculously detailed Batman for 15 minutes.

Windows Phone App Review: DrawPlan

An architect I am not but I can see DrawPlan for Windows Phone being a handy app if you need to draw out a rough draft on your Windows Phone. DrawPlan allows you to draw out plans with polygonal shapes by adding or removing line segments.

The interface is simple, DrawPlan has a healthy selection of tools to determine surface measurements, angles, triangulation and you can export it all to DXF format. DrawPlan may not appeal to everyone but in just tinkering with it for a short while it appears to be a very nice productivity app for your Windows Phone.
