These new contracted plans start from £13.99 per month, enabling consumers to take advantage of faster Internet speeds at a more affordable price point. The operator has been criticized in the past for its pricing of LTE in the UK.

From today, EE Windows Phone users in the UK can now take advantage of a new service launched by the network called EE Tickets. For those of you that like to go to music concerts, theatre shows etc., you can sign up with the new service and receive notifications when new deals are available. UK mobile operators Three and EE (Everything Everywhere) are to invest £1 billion in a shared 4G network agreement. According to the Financial Times, the two companies will work together by sharing mast and backhaul transmission costs as part of the joint investment in UK infrastructure. The goal is to provide greater flexibility for the two networks to control speeds and coverage, as well as improving efficiency of provided services as a whole.

It’s raining Lumia Black! Tips and reports are flying in left and right. The update is showing up in more markets and on more phones daily. Earlier today it came out for the Lumia 920 and 820 on AT&T here in the United States picked up Black, India picked it up the Lumia 520 a few days ago and for Lumia 720 today. Of course China was the first market to start receiving the update earlier this month. Now our friends in the UK are picking up Lumia Black for the Lumia 920 on EE.

It would appear that the UK mobile consumer is loving 4G, according to the latest statement from EE. The network, who was first to introduce LTE to the UK, had a target of signing up one million subscribers in 2013 and it only took ten months to get to that goal. During the following four months a further one million folk joined EE which goes to prove two things.

UK network EE has today announced it has teamed up with AT&T to offer visitors to the UK 4G LTE services, with more carriers to follow suit in the New Year. What this means (initially) for AT&T Windows Phone customers who pop over the pond is that they will automatically pick up the EE 4G network as long as you have a 4G enabled device.

UK mobile operator EE has announced today that the company will be investing £275 million in mobile calls next year. The plan is to drive new benchmarks for quality and reliability when using your mobile phone to make a call. In total, 11,000 2G sites are being upgraded on the network, while capacity will be doubled on 7,000 3G sites. Experiencing some slowdowns? Hopefully those will soon be a thing of the past.

This move will look to protect consumers from unexpected mobile phone contract price rises with the companies offering greater transparency at the start of a contract. A cap will also be introduced for mobile phones that have been stolen.

Virgin Media and EE have both announced an extension to the MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) partnership for Virgin Mobile, the UK's largest (and oldest) MVNO to continue operations with over three million customers to boot. EE has the largest network coverage in the UK, along with the controversial head start with 4G, both likely played a major deciding factor in the deal.

Asda and EE have today announced a partnership for Asda Mobile, an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) running on the EE network (previously with Vodafone since 2007). This new deal builds on an existing partnership, which includes in-store Wi-Fi and provision of mobile services. Asda Mobile customers will have access to EE's network, taking advantage of wider coverage and faster connection speeds.

The UK mobile operator took to Twitter today to reveal mid-September as to when Lumia Windows Phone owners can expect to see the updates shipped out on the network. Not long to go now, folks.
