We'll be the first to say that we wish HTC would take its new One (M8) Android device and slap Windows Phone on it. It's a truly beautiful smartphone, just read Android Central's in-depth review of the device to get an idea how it looks. We ran a quick poll yesterday asking if you would like to see a Windows Phone version, but rumors are suggesting one may be in the works.

Our friends over at Android Central have a brand new phone to play with. It’s the 2014 edition of the HTC One (M8). We just checked out their review and we’ll admit we’re a little jealous. We love the playful colors of the Lumia handsets, but we wouldn’t mind seeing more Windows Phones with metal finishes. Which is why we think we’d love a device like the HTC One with Windows Phone 8.1. What about you?

HTC is believed to be working on a new Windows Phone, according to reports. It's said the upcoming device will not be a complete re-hash of the HTC One, a popular Android handset, but it will take some cues from the metal flagship smartphone.

We're supposedly looking at a screen size between 4 and 5 inches and will be constructed with a body made from metal. Beats Audio and Windows Phone GDR3 are said to also be included. If this is the case then this rumour could be a while off, if true.

We're not talking patents, but Nokia has dealt yet another blow to HTC. The Finnish handset maker has been granted a preliminary injunction by the Amsterdam district court, regarding technology utilised by HTC in its flagship device - the HTC One. It's boasted that the HTC One sports high-amplitude microphones, but this is the same dual-membrane technology that Nokia uses in its Lumia family of Windows Phones (we've even looked at the Lumia 920 vs HTC 8X recording a live event).
