HTC is believed to be working on a new Windows Phone, according to reports. It's said the upcoming device will not be a complete re-hash of the HTC One, a popular Android handset, but it will take some cues from the metal flagship smartphone.

We're supposedly looking at a screen size between 4 and 5 inches and will be constructed with a body made from metal. Beats Audio and Windows Phone GDR3 are said to also be included. If this is the case then this rumour could be a while off, if true.

Ting is a wireless service provider here in the United States. Ting doesn’t subsidize the cost of smartphones and does that in order to avoid contracts for consumers. They operate their services via Sprint’s CDMA 3G, 4G, WiMAX and 4G LTE network. It looks like Ting is getting ready to jump on the Windows phone bandwagon according to a recent blog post and in doing so outs the HTC “Tiara” and another Samsung device. We last heard from Ting about a month ago where they reassured their support of Windows Phone.

Make More Space is an HTC Windows Phone 8 exclusive that helps HTC owners manager phone storage. The update to version 1.4 gives the app a little more functionality by letting you see a break down of how much space each app or game takes up.

Make More Space will display where your storage is allocated between music/videos, pictures, documents, and apps. You also will see how much free space you have left on your HTC Windows Phone.

Some good news on a Friday for the 5 of you Sprint customers still rocking a Windows Phone 7.x device. We’ve known for sure since early January that you’d be getting some Windows Phone 8 handsets around summer time. One from Samsung and the other from HTC – the Tiara and Ativ S. One of those devices looks like it’s spent some time with our friends at the FCC. Is Sprint about to get some Windows Phone 8 love?

Yesterday, a source within HTC announced that the company's plan to design full-sized tablets running Microsoft’s Windows RT operating system would be called off. The anonymous tipper stated that low demand for Windows RT devices and high cost are a reason for its cancellation.

HTC reportedly still has plans to release a 7 inch ARM tablet running the Windows RT operating system, but analysts are pointing at the company’s possible recent decision as a foreshadow for Microsoft’s future – I disagree.

Ting has reaffirmed its stance on Windows Phone availability. The mobile operator has previously teased that there are plans in place to support Microsoft's platform, but we've yet to see anything materialise. A new article has been published on the Ting blog that details the company looking to pick up multiple Windows Phones this coming summer.

If you're looking for a very good, entry level Windows Phone and don't necessarily need a Windows Phone 8 device, Groupon has a deal for you. They are offering an unlocked HTC Radar for $172.99.

The 3.8" screened device sports a 1GHz processor, 8GB of storage, a 5MP rear camera with BSI sensor and is GSM carrier compatible.  It may not have all the bells and whistles of other Windows Phones but overall, the Radar is a solid performer.

A Windows Phone update is being pushed out for the AT&T HTC 8X but there's not much to go on as far as what the update accomplishes.

The OS version remains at 8.0.10211.204 and the Firmware reads 1532.20.20100.502. The update only takes a few minutes to install and there isn't anything obvious as to what the update brings to the table.

Our guess is this update is similar to the update Verizon pushed out recently and has a few patches here, a few fixes there. We'll see what we can dig up but in the meantime, if you see any changes after updating, let us know below in the comments.

So what can one do with a pair of HTC 8X Windows Phones, a pan / tilt gimble, WiFi network and a block of wood? It's a superb question and one that HTC engineer Garrett Rysko can answer. A post over on the HTC blog walks us through how an advanced baby monitor was created for his lab partner, Derek Feri. While it's one expensive baby monitor kit, we always enjoy covering DIY projects.

More information has come to light on the drama unfolding between Nokia and HTC. The Finnish manufacturer was granted a preliminary injunction against the HTC One due to an identical microphone component being installed by ST Microelectronics. It has now been found that HTC isn't to blame, but the component provider for breaching the contract with Nokia.

We're not talking patents, but Nokia has dealt yet another blow to HTC. The Finnish handset maker has been granted a preliminary injunction by the Amsterdam district court, regarding technology utilised by HTC in its flagship device - the HTC One. It's boasted that the HTC One sports high-amplitude microphones, but this is the same dual-membrane technology that Nokia uses in its Lumia family of Windows Phones (we've even looked at the Lumia 920 vs HTC 8X recording a live event).

HTC has always been a big partner of Microsoft. They’ve been onboard with Windows Phone since the beginning in 2010, but the history goes back deeper than that. They started out making devices for other companies (running Windows Mobile) and took off when they started to produce devices under their own name. With the upcoming ‘Blue’ update across a variety of Microsoft platforms it’s becoming harder and harder for OEMs to build a Windows Phone and not have a corresponding tablet running Windows 8 to complement it.

NPD DisplaySearch, a market research and consulting firm, believes that HTC is working on a tablet running Windows 8.

We sympathize with you Windows Phone fans on Sprint. Here we are, it’s almost April 2013 and you’ve only had one device available since Windows Phone debuted back in October 2010. The HTC 7 Pro (Arrive) was a nice phone to start you out, but it’s time for something new. You already know that HTC and Samsung will be the OEMs making your devices when you get them early summer. But now we have a better idea about those devices – The HTC ‘Tiara’ and Samsung Ativ S.
