The Nokia Lumia 1020 may be ending sales in a few months, but that doesn't stop Microsoft from featuring the imaging powerhouse in their latest video. The main message in the video is that you can take great photos, access them from your favorite devices, and share them with the people who matter most. In addition to the 41-megapixel cameraphone, Microsoft also features OneDrive and Instagram.

Last night, Instagram Beta for Windows Phone was updated. It brought a feature we think that all photo apps should have – Lock screen support. However, a large number of users voiced concern that Instagram Beta would crash anytime users set the app to control the Lock screen. Less than a day later, an update has been pushed through by Instagram to address those crashes.

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen an update to Instagram Beta, the official (but in perpetual development) Instagram app for Windows Phone. The app launched and became available in the Windows Phone Store back in late November. It’s picked up a handful of intermittent updates in the subsequent period. Today we’re looking at a nice addition to Instagram Beta. Anyone up for Lock screen support?

There are a handful of official apps on Windows Phone for all the various social networks out there. Google+ is of course notably absent, but why use that when we’ve got Twitter and Instagram. We have official apps for both Instagram and Twitter, but we also have solid third-party clients from the strong developer community on Windows Phone. Be sure you never miss a moment of Windows Phone news by following Windows Phone Central across your social networks.

It was just a few days ago that the official Instagram (beta) app for Windows Phone received another update. At first this looked to be a small, quick big update since there was no changelog accompanied with the update. And the app was updated a few days prior to that with performance improvements and UX refinements. Turns out there was a hidden new feature in the latest update, let’s check it out.

The official Instagram app (beta) for Windows Phone has received an update just a little over 48 hours go. Don’t worry if you missed it because another update just came out. The previous update, version 0.3, has brought performance improvements, crash fixes, and UX refinements. The latest update, version 0.3.1, does not list anything new in the change log. We think it brings more bug fixes and performance improvements.

It seems like it was just yesterday that 6tag, the popular Instagram client for Windows Phone 8, had yet another update from developer Rudy Huyn. Indeed, it was yesterday that version 3.0.2.0 landed. Huyn whimsically promised on Christmas Eve that it was the last update for this week. Luckily for you, he couldn’t keep his word.

In an odd coincidence, soon after we posted a review of the app InstaVideo Downloader, Huyn saw a challenge before him and he feverishly began working on his own solution to allow users to save Instagram videos. Yes, evidently there are some videos that you folks come across that you want to save for later, and instead of having a separate app, you can now do it all in 6tag. Let’s get the details.

Although Instagram updated their beta app for Windows Phone earlier in the week, it appears there were some stability issues. At least, that’s what we’re inferring from today’s minor 0.0.1 update, which is now live in the Store.

So what’s new in Instagram beta? Unfortunately no new features, but instead it “contains crash fixes”. While we haven’t experience any issues, some users in Reviews have cited some force-closing of the app, which sounds exactly like the problem addressed with this rapid update.
