The other day we reported that Nokia may be prohibiting carriers from branding the new Lumia Windows Phones with their company logos. Instead, preferring that carriers use virtual branding through preloaded software or software hubs.

Several Italian carriers are reportedly preparing to offer the new Lumia Windows Phones without logo branding. As we mentioned previously, the overseas carrier influence is a little more passive that what we experience here in the States. We weren't sure if this logo ban would extend to AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile until this morning.

Earlier today we shared that Microsoft was changing its logo and based on our poll, most seem to like it. The logo is simple, effective and more closely matches the Modern UI. But is has strong ties to Microsoft's past.

The above commercial is from 1995 for Windows 95. While most will remember the 1995 era logo being more of a wavy flag, Microsoft did use the more simplistic tile box.

The update adds 120 logos to the game, bringing the total number of logos you have to identify to 480. You also get the ability to share the game on Facebook and Twitter as well as the option to display the names to logos you've already identified.  For those not familiar, Logoarama presents you with various product/service logo and it's your job to identify them.

Logoarama is a trivia game for your Windows Phone where you have to correctly identify company logos. Version 1.1 offered eight levels of logo identification challenges. The version 1.2 update not only adds a second and bonus stages with more levels to the game but also gives Logoarama a new, clean looking redesign.  The update also offers a little more forgiveness towards spelling the logo's name.

All totaled more that one hundred new logos have been added to the mix. Some logos are partial, making the game a bit more challenging in identifying things.  The update also brings a few performance tweaks and bug fixes to the mix.  Overall, the update does a good job of improving an already nice game for your Windows Phone.

Logoarama may not appeal to everyone but we found it to be an enjoyable time waster when you have a few minutes to blow. The full version of Logoarama is running $.99 and you can find it here at  the Windows Phone Marketplace.

If you're already enjoying Logoarama, the update just went live so look the update notification on your Windows Phone here shortly.
