Lumia 505

Today, Nokia took the wraps off of the Lumia 505, expected to be an exclusive low-end Windows Phone for Mexico’s Telcel network and sister device to the Lumia 510.

The Lumia 505 should be launching within the next few weeks and the phone, which comes in red, pink or black, admittedly looks strikingly bold. The full device specs have also now been revealed for the Windows Phone 7.8 device and while it skimps severely on storage (4GB, non-expandable) the rest of the features are solid.

The Nokia Lumia 505, a customized sister device to the low-end Lumia 510, is said to be coming exclusively to Mexican carrier Telcel “soon”. We first reported on this story last week and we were a tad skeptical only because there has been nothing official—either from Telcel or Nokia—on this phone.

Now in Telcel’s holiday catalog, the elusive device is shown in full, making this a bonafide Windows Phone that is on its way to Mexico...

Nokia may be once again creating some exclusive phones for regional carriers and this time it’s reportedly the Lumia 505.

The phone first popped up on the questionable Facebook page of Guerrero Móvil, where not much info was provided besides the image and it being exclusive to Telcel.  At the time, that wasn’t enough for us to run with the story as there was no other confirmation of that device (and to be honest, anyone could throw together that carrier mockup).
