Microsoft has released a new advertisement showing off color popping in the Nokia Creative Studio, available on Lumia Windows Phones. The feature (as the ad demonstrates) enables users to spice up their mobile photography by 'popping' in colors on certain objects, leaving the rest of the image in grayscale. It's a neat effect and one that also represents just how unique Lumia Windows Phones are.

The Nokia Lumia 930 has appeared for pre-order across Europe. The high-end Windows Phone device, available from Expansys and other retailers, is priced right around €530, though the price varies from country to country. And unlike some other retailers and regions, most Lumia 930 buyers in Europe will have the option of all four colors — black, white, orange, and green — when it comes to the smartphone.

Microsoft is offering £80 worth of Amazon vouchers to consumers who were unfortunately affected by the Nokia Lumia 2520 charger issues. We've been alerted to an email being sent out with a code for anyone who was affected and registered with the support system. As well as sending out replacement chargers for the Windows tablet (and offering the voucher), Nokia is asking consumers return the original chargers in supplied packaging.

The Nokia Lumia 636, bearing the model number RM-1010, has passed through certification in China. If you're not familiar with the Lumia 636, it's essentially the TD-LTE version of the Lumia 635. It's also worth noting that this will mark the very first TD-LTE Windows Phone from Nokia (now Microsoft after the acquisition of Nokia's devices division).

An affordable smartphone with quad-core processing, the latest version of Microsoft's mobile operating system and more certainly makes the Lumia 630 package more appealing to consumers in targeted markets.

The Windows Phone 8.1 devices might hit Indian shores soon! We’ve received an invite for a media event in New Delhi on May 12, 2014. While the invite comes via Nokia’s long-standing agency, the invite bears a Microsoft logo, implying the new hosts.

Incidentally, Nokia India has also listed Lumia 630 (both single SIM and dual SIM variants) and Lumia 930 on the website recently. Announced at the Build conference in April this year, just before the acquisition of Nokia’s devices business finished, these devices are Nokia’s first series of Windows Phone 8.1 devices.

Nokia is out of the smartphone race as a company, though Microsoft is picking up the baton with its newly acquired mobile hardware division. That said, competitor companies acknowledge the talent at Nokia, notably Apple who has snipped camera expert Ari Partinen. According to Partinen's Twitter feed, today marks his last day working on the Lumia family of devices.

The Lumia 2520 is officially launching tomorrow, with orders kicking off for a May 18th release. The Windows RT 8.1 tablet will be available in black with a price tag of $840 in an exclusive deal with Australia's Telstra. Nokia's first device in the tablet category of hardware comes packed full of features, including a 1080p HD display, LTE connectivity and Zeiss optics.
