Hey, look at that! The Nokia Lumia 810 exclusively for T-Mobile showed up on our doorstep and we decided to film us opening her up.

Now although Mobile Nations guru Phil Nickinson played with a dummy Lumia 810, yours truly has not had a chance to even touch one—so this will be my first “hands on” with T-Mobile’s new device. Off the cuff? The screen, even at 4.3” and 800x480 is really bold, bright and eye popping, due in part to some ClearBlack and an OLED display. It also blends seamlessly with that soft-touch black body, which feels quite nice to hold...

If you pre-ordered a Nokia Lumia 822 from Verizon Wireless, rejoice! According to screenshots from Verizon's website, your phone will be shipping out tomorrow ... that is, unless you ordered a red HTC 8X. In that case, you can expect it in another week or so, on November 21. None of this is set in stone, however, so don't go blaming us if it takes a little longer. I went through the steps of choosing a HTC 8X in my region, Massachusetts, and got shipping dates ranging from November 15 to November 21. All of the Nokia Lumia 822s showed up as immediately available.

One of the key focal points of the Nokia Lumia 920 Windows Phone is the 8.7 megapixel camera with Pureview technology. Nokia ventured into uncharted territory with the 41 megapixel Pureview camera on the Nokia 808 and we waited with much anticipation to get our hands on the lower resolution camera that was fitted to the Lumia 920.

We saw plenty of post production samples of how this camera shines from the optical stabilization handling a ride on a remote control car to low-light demo we witnessed at the New York launch event. The Lumia 920 has the potential to take our Windows Phone cameras where they've never been before.  While the pre-release demos and samples were impressive, we needed to get our hands on the Lumia 920 and see for ourselves how well the 920 performed.

After taking the Lumia 920's camera out for a test drive over the past few days it is an impressive camera.  Low-light performance is remarkable but the camera is hindered by a few in-camera settings.  Settings that leave images slightly soft. Nothing to make you scream and the softness is easily corrected with post-processing software.  We feel that this softness can easily be fixed with a firmware update to allow the Lumia 920 to reach its full potential.

While there is room for improvement, the Lumia 920's camera is still impressive and it remains a key attraction for the Windows Phone.

Seeing as how the Nokia Lumia 920 Windows Phone 8 handset just launched a few days ago in the US, there is an understandable scarcity of accessories for the device. Some people might not mind given the Lumia 920’s beautiful appearance, but others like me probably feel like our phones are naked without a case. What would happen if we dropped it by mistake?

Luckily David Rahimi from PhoneBuff.com was brave enough to find out just that. He dropped the Lumia 920 from three different heights, simulating a variety of real-world dropping conditions. Head past the break for the drop test video and our own analysis of the results.

On Friday, AT&T launched the Nokia Lumia 920, Lumia 820 and HTC 8X Windows Phones.  To celebrate, Windows Phone Central held an impromtu contest where three readers who commented on our launch day post, would be selected at random to win a $50 gift card to the WPCentral Accessory Store.

While over 650 comments were posted and many readers were successful in finding their new AT&T Windows Phone, only three would walk away with the gift cards.

Update: Ah, as it turns out what is shown above is actually an app called Emotiboard (found here).  In other words, false alarm! Sorry folks.

It looks like Nokia is getting frisky as they're showing a glimpse of the Lumia 800 evidently with the upcoming Windows Phone 7.8 upgrade. The image above comes via their Facebook page and while it does not mention 7.8 directly it does show some new emoticons off. Those emoticons are not found in current 7.5 builds but they are found in Windows Phone 8 as we demonstrated in our video tour two weeks ago.

Update: To clarify, the Touchstone charger doesn't actually charge the Lumia 920. It just actives the charging protocol but due to a mismatch in frequencies, it does not actually do anything. In fact, as webOSNation's Derek Kessler tells us, it could even damage your phone were you to leave it on there for an extended period of time. In other words, don't do this!

The Nokia Lumia 920 (and 820 with backplate) uses the Qi standard for wireless charging. In simplest terms that means universal charging plates (as opposed to some proprietary system) can be mass produced and the 920 will work with future products. It also means that past wireless charging systems, like Palm's Touchstone charging dock also work with the Lumia 920 as demonstrated in the video above.

In one of the more creative offerings we have seen to get people to buy new Windows Phone 8 handsets, we like this one from Carphone Warehouse.  By simply purchasing a Nokia Lumia 820 you qualify for a free upgrade to Windows 8 Pro on your PC. (Unfortunately, Phones4U have an exclusive on the 920).That reinforces the notion that Microsoft (and their partners) are really pushing the idea that the desktop OS and phone are companions.

Fans of Microsoft's mobile OS for years have clamored for such a marketing campaign and now it looks to finally be happening. Thanks, Louis B, for the photo!

Update: Users are reporting download issues with Draw Something and compatibility. Your mileage may vary.

Nokia had originally offered Draw Something recently to Lumia owners but the game was quickly pulled for what seemed like connection errors. Now that game and its companion, Words with Friends, have both returned to the Nokia Collection.

Interestingly, both games are completely free though these do have ads to cover their costs. That differs from the games we covered here last night, which will run you $2.99 to play but do not have ads.

Both games are available now and will work on Windows Phone 7 and 8 devices. You can download Words with Friends here and Draw Something here in the Nokia Collection. QR codes after the break…

For some odd reason Amazon Wireless is not yet aboard the Lumia 920 train but Walmart sure is, as they have put the device on sale on their site. What's more, they have even undercut AT&T by selling the device for $50 cheaper at just $49.99 on a two-year contract. That's one heck of a deal if you're looking to jump in on what we consider to be the best Windows Phone around.

The off-contract price is still at an over-inflated $699, so there is no deal there. Colors are cyan, white, black and red with yellow noticeably absent. In addition if you look closely, they have the 820's image instead of the 920 for the black version. Whoops!

And if you're into the Lumia 820 that of course has been dropped from AT&T's $49 price to just $0 on a two-year contract.

Head to Walmart to check for your regional availability. Thanks, Vishnu S, for the heads up!

Nokia Lumia 920 Review

Windows Phone Central's review of Nokia's highly anticipated flagship Windows Phone 8 device

If there were one device that the tech world is focused on for measuring Windows Phone success, it would be the Nokia Lumia 920 (available now on AT&T; $99). It is considered by many to be the “flagship” phone (a term we find to be ill defined) for the platform and as such it has a lot riding on it.

We’ve had the AT&T Nokia Lumia 920 for well over 10 days now so we figured we would finally share our thoughts. The reason for the delay? Simply put, the device was not available to most of you and we happen to believe in spending more than 48 hours with a phone before deciding on the pros and cons.  Some reviews, in our opinion, have glossed over some issues, others have missed new developments and most have focused on just a few aspects e.g. the size issue.

The too long, didn’t read it version? We like the Lumia 920 a lot and it is easily the best Windows Phone to date. It’s perhaps not for everyone but Nokia have done a great job.

File this under fun.

During the production phase of the Nokia Lumia 920, the hardworking folks who put together these remarkable devices quickly test out the camera, checking for colors and whether or not it even works. Sometimes though, they forget to delete the samples. Such is the case with Ryan J.'s phone, which still had a few photos and even a video clip on board.

Head past the break and catch a quick glimpse at the people behind your new toy.

We just came back from one of our local AT&T store, actually two of 'em, looking for the new Lumia 920. Our first store only had the Nokia hero phone in black (we were going for glossy white) so we had to drive a few miles in the other direction to grab one. Lesson? Call your store first to make sure you have availability.  We ended up paying $350 for it as the rep extended our contract from 17 months back to 24, saving us a few hundred bucks.

No stores had charging pads either but if you press the store manager on it, they should be able to order you one for free. The HTC 8X was also in short supply, with a lot of stores reporting no-stock. And although we didn't see any lines, we did see a few folks purchasing the 920, so word is out.

Check out our quick unboxing video to see the Lumia 920 in its mediocre enclosure. And don't forget to share your AT&T Windows Phone 8 experience in our comments here for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate.
