It's no secret that Nokia Windows Phones sport the most advanced camera tech in the industry. Competition is close – we compared the Lumia 1520 against the iPhone 5 in benchmark tests – but the Finnish company still reigns supreme. A part of what makes certain Lumia Windows Phones so good when it comes to snapping those special moments comes down to gyroscopic stabilisation. Previously exclusive to Nokia, this technology for smartphones is now available on the open market.

Your smartphone can say a lot about you, especially if your smartphone happens to be the massive Nokia Lumia 1520. There's just no mistaking that trademark Lumia look and the 6-inch 1080p screen. So when our fellow forum user, fawzib, who loves the yellow, but wants the professional vibe of white, couldn't decide, what did he do? He took to the Windows Phone Central forums for some input, that's what.

The Lumia 929 (or Icon, as it's been referred as) is yet to be released by Nokia, but there have been numerous stories, rumours and leaks teasing consumers. Not only that, but China has already seen the Windows Phone be made available, even though it's a Verizon exclusive. The question we'd like to have you all answer is: will you be picking one up when it's eventually released?

The Nokia Lumia 920 is a solid (quite literally) Windows Phone, powering the latest version of Microsoft's operating system. It was the first Nokia Windows Phone to sport wireless charging, not to mention a great camera and superb display. If you're looking for a premium Windows Phone experience at a low price, you may want to check out an eBay page selling refurbished units for $200. That's a great deal for the overall package. Not only that, but Amazon has the Xbox Live 12 month subscription on offer too.

We've previously covered the mistakes of sales teams at numerous retailers and outlets in multiple regions around the world. The latest blooper appears to be located at a Fry's store in California where a consumer spotted what appears to be the yet-to-be-announced Nokia Lumia Icon. The overall design,1080p display and more gives it away. Not only was a dummy unit on display, but it was labeled as the Nokia Lumia 928.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 camera was recently tested by DXO Mark and received some rather impressive ratings.  For those not familiar, DXO Mark is a company that has established an industry standard for testing cameras and lens performance.  While DXO Mark does a number of tests on photographic gear, the testing measurements for the company’s camera database are performed on straight-from-camera RAW files.

DXO Mark already has the Lumia 1020 ranked fifth with a score of 74 on their Mobile Rating Scale.  Now that the Nokia Lumia 1020 has RAW/DNG capabilities (after updating to the Nokia Black Update) DXO Mark has tested the 41MP camera through its in-depth RAW-based sensor testing.  This allows the Lumia 1020 to be measured up against other camera in DXO Mark camera database.

Nokia released the company's Q4 2013 financial report earlier this week, revealing some rather disappointing data. Sales of Lumia Windows Phones were estimated to be lower in Q4 2013, compared to Q3. While Nokia failed to provide hard numbers in the report itself, the company did go on record to confirm the number of sales at 8.2 million units (compared to 8.8 in Q3). Then again, even the juggernaut Samsung Mobile had a rough time this quarter, meaning this isn't a Nokia anomaly.

Today, AdDuplex, one of the largest ad service providers for Windows Phone apps, has published a blog post attempting to analyse how the platform performed through the holiday season, compared to previous quarters.

The Lumia 2520 is Nokia's first Windows 8 tablet, powering Microsoft's RT operating system. The product itself was unveiled back at Nokia World last year in Abu Dhabi, and while it has already launched in multiple markets, we've got some bad news for those who reside in the Philippines. According to NokiaRevolution, the company will not be releasing the Lumia 2520 in the region.

This week we’ve seen the recent set of financial results from both Microsoft, and it’s soon-to-be-acquired mobile phone business from Nokia.

It’s pretty easy to paint a pretty picture for Microsoft. They beat the Street’s expectations on revenue and earnings, and things are going well in terms of enterprise sales. On the consumer front, you could focus on the doubling of Surface sales and decent showing in Xbox sales.

But I’d like to open up the discussion a bit more. Let’s talk about the long term potential for Microsoft’s business. To pre-frame the discussion, consider that when I say “long term” I really mean it. I’m talking about the next decade or more.

When AT&T announced the 16 GB version of the Nokia Lumia 1520 many balked at the Windows Phone citing the lack of memory (among other things).  Even with micro-SD expansion, many thought 16 GB of storage was just too limited.

Enter the 32GB version of the AT&T Lumia 1520 that hit store shelves just a short while ago.  The new release is about $50 more than the 16 GB version and is only available in the matte black finish.

Nokia releases its financial report for Q4 2013, showing a decline in Lumia sales before passing the baton to Microsoft

While both the media and consumers wait patiently for Microsoft to inevitably absorb Nokia's devices and services division, the Finnish company today published its Q4 2013 financial report. This latest report paints a rather bleak image of its Lumia family of Windows Phones. Simply put, Nokia (and Microsoft as both the operating system developer and financial partner) had a bad period to close off 2013. That said, it's not all negative and the Nokia we should see after the Microsoft deal will be a profitable company.

There’s no denying that Windows Phone is the mobile operating system in third place. A distance third, but third nonetheless. It’s still got a lot of work to do in order to catch up to iOS globally before it even can have Android on its radar. The latest numbers from the IDC put Windows Phone at 3.6% marketshare, while Android and iOS are at 81.0% and 12.9% respectively. What about apps?

Nokia has today released an update for Play To, taking the app up to version 2.2.3.2. This release includes the much anticipated fix for those running the GDR3 Developer Preview (Update 3), which saw the app lose all functionality and be rendered useless. It was only last week we covered news that the company would be releasing a patch to help users out, so we see this as a positive turn around.
