O2

O2 has unveiled more details on its 4G LTE pricing. The company announced earlier this month that 4G will be launching at the end of August, and while some hints to pricing were provided, today we've got some idea as to how much you'll be looking to fork out each month to take advantage of the increased data speeds. Starting at £26 for SIM-only plans and £32 a month with a 4G handset, O2 is clearly looking to compete with EE.

UK mobile operator O2 has announced that the company will be launching its 4G mobile network on August 29th. The operator will snap up second place in the LTE race here in the UK, following EE's incredible lead to get established over its competitors. Initially available in London, Leeds and Bradford, O2 will be planning to extend the service to cover a further 10 cities by 2014.

This is the news many consumers have been waiting for. EE will now be challenged by O2 and competing networks as the likes of Vodafone and Three also hop on-board and launch their respective network upgrades. How much will you be looking to fork out for 4G on O2? The basic 4G tariff will be starting at £26 a month - though it's not yet known what the plan will include.

Look at this, a deal that isn’t focused in the United States. Our friends across the pond can take advantage of these sweet savings if they’re based in the UK and have a Nokia Lumia 925

While wireless charging isn’t integrated into the device like the Lumia 920, it’s worth checking out. Especially with the following deal after the break...

O2 has partnered with Virgin Media to provide free Wifi connectivity to its customers throughout the London Underground train system, affectionately known as the Tube. Virgin Media has hotspots in more than 120 Tube stations and has already partnered with O2 competitors Vodafone and EE, leaving Three as the only major UK carrier to not offer this service to their users.

While a few of you have lamented that the AT&T Nokia Lumia 1020 will reportedly come with only 32GB of internal storage (and nothing expandable), we now have evidence that a 64GB version of the device is planned for the market,

Unfortunately, it is exclusively destined for Telefónica (O2, Movistar and Vivo) in both their European and Latin American markets.

The device is slated to launch in September and will provide double the storage of the “standard” Nokia Lumia Eros...

There's a purple shell that's available at UK mobile operator O2. It's exclusive too, so if you're interested, you'll have to go through the store.

File under interesting but no details, the site mobiFlip has gotten their hands on O2’s (Germany) upcoming smartphone roadmap. While there are the usual Huawei, Sony and HTC devices, two Nokia ones have raised an eyebrow.

The first one goes by ‘Eros’ and could be just a mis-spelling of ‘EOS’, the codename reportedly used for Nokia’s 41MP Lumia 920-esque phone, due for revealing next week. Then again, it could be a whole new device or just a carrier variant. Since there is literally no information about this phone’s specs, we can only guess.

O2 hasn't been shy when it comes to Windows Phone. The UK mobile operator has a strong selection of Windows Phones for customers to choose from, but it's also what's happening behind the scenes that's rather interesting. Not only is the company backing the platform on the store front, but we've recently covered O2 working with Microsoft on a new marketing partnership and today we're looking at My O2 Live Tiles for Windows Phone.

Fear not though as the organisers plan to release more batches through June. Whether you're an expert, novice or a developer or designer, everyone is invited to take part (should you manage to get a place, of course).

British carrier O2 announced back in January that they planned to carry the Huawei Ascend W1 later this year. O2's "coming soon" has revealed that the W1 will be arriving sooner rather than later, in late March. O2 will offer the W1 in Electric Blue and Electric Pink at an unspecified price. There's no exact release date yet, but at least we have a good idea of when to expect it.

We know a lot of people are anxious for Windows Phone 7.8, the OS update for current Windows Phone 7.xx users who want the new “look” of 3 Live Tile sizes, in addition to some other minor enhancements.

O2, via Twitter support, has responded to one customer by stating  the update will come by the end of January and will be delivered by Zune desktop.

We should caution that O2 Twitter is not exactly an official announcement and we have seen some false information come from carrier support before, but the detail and confidence by which O2 responded here gives us some hope.
