Update 1PM ET: As expected, Microsoft has pulled the pre-order page

Microsoft has been busy lately with listing preorders on their Store and then pulling them once we report on it. That tells us that these pages are made in advance but are not meant to go public quite yet. Still, we have reports that Microsoft are honoring preorders that are placed before the pages are pulled.

This morning we have the Verizon Lumia 2520 Windows RT tablet available—in both red or black—for $499 with no contract. That price falls in line with what we are expecting, although we did reveal that Verizon will be offering the Nokia tablet for $399 on a two-year contract.

Late last night we reported on the pre-order page for the AT&T Nokia Lumia 1520, the massive Windows Phone with a 6-inch, 1080P display. The listing was interesting because the price and release date were denoted, both of which were previously unknown. However, the Microsoft Store listing may have been posted in error.

First the bad news. Microsoft has now pulled the pre-order, meaning it was likely posted as a mistake. Second, we’ve heard from a highly reliable source that the Friday, November 15th date was the original plan but regrettably, it has been pushed back to Friday, November 22nd. That would partially explain why AT&T themselves do not have a preorder up for the 1520 and why Microsoft has pulled the listing.

The 41 MP Lumia 1020 from Nokia is finally hitting its stride with its global release. Nearly every day, we hear of a new launch on some corner of the planet. Today we have two markets, both of which are quite massive for the soon-to-be Microsoft company: India and Singapore.

Nokia India has officially listed the massive camera phone on its website with a price of Rs.49999 ($812 USD) and customers can now preorder the device. Expected delivery for the flagship phone is by the third week of October. Earlier, Flipkart listed the phone in that region for preorder and it sold-out on Snapdeals, signifying strong demand.

Yesterday was a big day for Microsoft, unveiling their follow ups to last year’s Surface tablets. The Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 look to shake things up by building off of a solid foundation started in 2012, now powered by Windows 8.1.

While both devices remain at the same price points, the have improved substantially. The Surface 2 is now lighter, thinner and sports a 1080P display while the Surface Pro 2 has upgrade graphics, processor, better display, higher quality speakers and more than double the battery life.

That’s in addition to the newly re-worked kickstand, power connector and all the other refinements added to the updated Surface series (plus all of those accessories).

It looks like Verizon is not yet ready to let AT&T have all the fun tomorrow with the launch of those Windows Phone 8 devices. Tonight at 1AM ET (10PM PT), the big wireless carrier will begin preorders for the Nokia Lumia 822 (press) and HTC 8X (press).

No firm release date was given though both phones are expected "before Thanksgiving" meaning we're looking at the 3rd week of November for release. The HTC 8X will uniquely feature wireless charging, competing with AT&T and their Lumia 920 for new features. In addition, the Lumia 822 will also feature the wireless charging technology built in, allowing customers of both devices to enjoy the hassle free power refills.

The Nokia Lumia 822 will go for $99 on contract (after $50 MIR) while the HTC 8X will fetch for $199--on par with AT&T--but will come only in 16GB sizes with California Blue, Graphite Black and Flame Red colors. The Lumia 822 will be available in white, black and grey.

This morning AT&T threw open the preorders for the Nokia Lumia 920, which is commanding a super-low $99 price tag on contract in addition to a limited offering of a free wireless charging pad.

What may be of interest to some is the fact that the off-contract, no commitment price (but yes, still locked to AT&T) is just $450. That’s quite fascinating as most had expected the no-commitment price to be north of $599. That is what Best Buy (and eBay) had as the off-contract price and considering the technology on board the Lumia 920 it made sense. Even when some of us applied a 25% off coupon on the eBy preorder our price was knocked down to $450, which at the time seemed like a steal. (Best Buy is price matching AT&T, so keep that in mind if you ordered from them).
