There's nothing better than downloading apps and games currently on offer for your Windows Phone. That's one Xbox Live title alongside two highly rated offerings.
Every week Microsoft releases app savings to the Windows Phone Store in the form of their Red Stripe Deals. Three apps are yours to claim if you’re up for saving a few bucks. And the majority of the time these apps (or games) are ones you’d probably want anyways. This week we’ve got Paper Racer, Mirror’s Edge, and HDR Photo Camera on sale. Let’s check them out.
Time was that Microsoft notified us of every Red Stripe Deal (then called the Xbox Live Deal of the Week) in advance. Sadly they stopped doing so many moons ago, but that hasn’t stopped our inquisitive nature. Today I was sniffing around all Wolverine-like and caught wind of tomorrow’s deals through unofficial channels – a day ahead of schedule.
The Xbox Red Stripe Deal is Rocket Riot from Codeglue, on sale for $1.99. Brain Seal’s indie RPG Dark Quest and the popular Tweet It! App from My Amazing Big Fork are both 99 cents. Head past the break for screenshots and Store links!
With no new Xbox release for Windows Phone this week, gamers in search of a fix will have to look to the Xbox Red Stripe Deal for their entertainment. This week's Red Stripe Deals are a little bit early over in the Windows Phone Store but who are we to complain.
For those not familiar with the deals, every week the Windows Phone Store taps one Xbox Windows Phone game, one independent gaming title and one app to go on sale. The deal lasts only a week when three new titles will be tapped for the savings.
For this week's deals, which are currently live, we have the Xbox title Parking Mania, the Akinator game, and the network utility UPnP Spy.
It’s another good week for Xbox Windows Phone 8 gamers with yesterday’s release of Tetris Blitz. But more games are always better, and Windows Phone 7 users need stuff to play too. So perhaps the Xbox Red Stripe Deal will do the trick. It’s a blast from the past with iBlast Moki from Godzilabs going on sale for 99 cents. iBlast Moki has only been on sale once before, way back in October 2011, so this will be many deal hunters’ first chance to get it on the cheap.
In non-Xbox Red Stripe Deals news, Anshar Studios’ popular puzzle game The Path of Kara (totally not supposed to sound like Path of Korra) is down to a buck as well. Meanwhile, Rise Up Games’ photography app ProShot lens for Windows Phone 8 is the same price. Details and Store links after the break.
The non-Xbox Red Stripe Deals are pretty good too. The hidden object game Flux Family Secrets from Big Fish Games is on sale for 99 cents. If you like the genre, consider it a must-buy. Last week’s Xbox Red Stripe Deal knocked it out of the park by offering Modern Combat 4 – a game that had never been on sale before – at a significant discount. But we can’t expect a new game to go on sale every week… Not if we don’t want our hearts broken. The latest discounted Xbox Windows Phone game has been on sale twice before, most recently in June. Yep, UberGeekGames’ BulletAsylum is 99 cents once again. We’ll try to contain our enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, the non-Xbox Red Stripe Deals are actually a lot more exciting. Indie Minecraft clone Discovery from Noowanda (?) is only 99 cents, which should please the construction crowd. And all three versions of Garmin’s GPS app Navigon (USA, Europe, and Australia) are half off as well. Descriptions and Store links after the break.
This has been a happy week for mobile Xbox gamers. Gameloft published the highly anticipated Six-Gunsfor Windows Phone 8, and it’s a free game to boot. But more is always better where games are concerned.
The latest Xbox Red Stripe Deal has you covered then, gamers. Gameloft’s Modern Combat 4 is one sale for $2.99, more than half off the regular price. It’s a killer Windows Phone 8 game that has never been on sale before. Call of Duty and first-person shooter fans won’t want to miss it.

It’s another sad week with no new Xbox Windows Phone game release – Tetris Blitz never showed up yesterday. As such, the Xbox Red Stripe Deal must provide hungry Windows Phone gamers with sustenance. Well, this week’s deal game has gone on twice sale before, but more than a year ago and never for as cheap. Physics puzzler Implode from IUGO is now on sale for 99 cents, down from $2.99. Probably what it should cost all the time, but who are we to judge?
Rounding out this week’s Red Stripe Deals are Darts Arena Online from E-Bouma and Week View 8, a calendar app from Hannes Biribauer. Both are on sale for 99 cents. Descriptions, free candy, and store links after the break!
Gameloft’s UNO & Friends launched earlier this month. Since then, two weeks have gone by with no new Xbox Windows Phone release (unless we count Chaos Rings, which we’ll get to in another article). Once again, the Xbox Red Stripe Deal is left to pick up the slack.
This week’s sale game can’t even begin to match the quality of last week’s Rayman Jungle Run sale, but it should still please Achievement hungry bargain shoppers. Collapse! from Game House is on sale for 99 cents. It went on sale back in February 2012, but at the higher $1.99 price point.
Since we had no new Xbox Windows Phone release this week, the Xbox Red Stripe Deal is left to pick up the slack. And for once, it doesn’t disappoint! Yes, this week a game that HAS NEVER BEEN ON SALE BEFORE goes on sale. That doesn’t happen too often. What’s more, it’s one of the best games available!
Yes, Rayman Jungle Run from Ubisoft is the Xbox game on sale this week. What Windows Phone 8 gamer could resist it for only 99 cents? As usual, we have two games and an app for you – Monopoly, Radiant, and Phototastic. Links and prices after the break.
Practically everybody who games on Windows Phone 8 is either anxiously awaiting today’s release of Halo: Spartan Assault (carrier issues notwithstanding) or knee-deep in last week’s release of Order & Chaos Online (don’t miss our Beginner’s Guide!). But some players are still stuck on Windows Phone 7 or just won’t pay seven bucks for a game, and those poor souls need stuff to play too. Won’t the Xbox Red Stripe Deal of the Week come to their rescue?
Sure, I guess! This week’s Xbox sale game is a repeat as usual, having gone on sale back in October last year. geoDefense Swarm from Critical Thought Games is on sale for 99 cents, down from $2.99. The indie Red Stripe game deal is 10tons’ Tennis in the Face for $1.49. In the non-game zone we have a news reader app called Collector from Squallstar Studio, on sale for 99 cents.
