Top Zombie Games for your Windows Phone

Windows Phone Central Gaming Roundup: Zombie Games

Just like the Zombies themselves, the Zombie gaming genre doesn't seem to want to die off.  We have a huge collection of Zombie oriented games available in the Windows Phone Store and many are rather successful gaming titles.  Titles such as Plants vs. Zombies, Dredd vs. Zombies and Zombies Can’t Jump are but a few of the many offerings in the Windows Phone Store.

This week’s Windows Phone Central Roundup focuses on the Zombie genre of games with four of the top rated titles.  Each game involves the undead, is rated at four-stars or higher and while not necessarily new to the Windows Phone Store they are new to the roundup.  They all are entertaining options for your Windows Phone gaming library and are fun ways to pass the time with.

Top Rated Windows Phone Photography Apps

Windows Phone Central App Roundup: Photography Apps

There is no shortage of photography apps over in the Windows Phone Store.  While some may argue there are too many, others welcome the variety and choices the photo app lineup offers.

Our Windows Phone camera hardware has improved phenomenally over the past few years providing us with extremely capable digital cameras.  The software used by these cameras has also noticeably improved.  Variety and choice is rarely a bad thing in these cases.

For this week’s roundup, we look at four of the top rated photography apps in the Windows Phone Store.  The apps tapped for this week’s roundup all have at least a four-star rating and are titles we have not covered before.  The apps range from a camera app alternative to an interesting note taking app that centers around the photos you take.  You still have ProShot, 6tag, Camera360, Fhotoroom and other top notched photography apps over in the Windows Phone store but we wanted to shine the light on a few apps some may not know about.

Smartwatches are a hot item these days and the Pebble Smartwatch may be the hottest potato in the bunch.  Our Mobile Nations teams recently visited the Pebble Factory in Palo Alto, California and were rather impressed with what they saw.

With the recent launch of the new Mobile Nations site Smartwatch Fans and the rising popularity of the Pebble watch we here at Windows Phone Central became curious as to what apps are available in the Windows Phone Store for these smartwatches.

It’s been good last few months for Windows Phone users in India. There were several marquee apps that made way to the Windows Phone Store from Android and iOS. Also, a lot of companion apps for real-world services arrived on Windows Phone.

One of the domains was telecom service providers or carriers. The apps from carriers are meant to facilitate easier billing and payment for customers, the ability to watch your usage history, and to switch on or off specific services.

Windows Phone Central Gaming Roundup: Endless Runners

Endless Runner games, also know to some as Infinite Runner games, are a fantastic way to pass the time with and there are plenty to choose from in the Windows Phone Store.  You know the games, the ones where the gaming character runs, jumps, dodges, and tumbles through various obstacles and dangers.  You run as far as possible before you eventually take a wrong turn, jump a little too late, or otherwise find your character stumble to their fate.

While this genre of games seems to be multiplying faster than weather apps, we shine the light on four of the top rated endless runners that are available in the Windows Phone Store for this week's roundup.  All four titles were highly anticipated titles that are drawn-up nicely and would be a great addition to your Windows Phone gaming library.

Windows Phone Central Gaming Roundup: Billiards

Last week’s Windows Phone Central roundup dealt with bowling games for our Windows Phones.  At the suggestion of one of our readers (thanks newVariable), this week we turn our focus on another indoor sporting activity – billiards.

Billiards or pool games can be a fun way to pass the time with.  The challenge of the game will keep things interested and the genre is well suited for multi-player action.  We pulled four billiard games from the Windows Phone Store for this week’s roundup based on their Store ratings.  All three had merit and have their own level of appeal.

Windows Phone Central Game Roundup: Bowling Games

Sports games for our Windows Phones can have great entertainment value.  These games can help you pass short bits of time or handle the longer gaming sessions when you plenty of time to kill.  Bowling games fit that bill and are are the subject of this week’s Windows Phone Central Roundup

Bowling may not appeal to everyone but they are simple games to pick up but challenging to master.  You often have customizations to make the game reflect more of your personal tastes and just when you think you have game play down pat, you roll a gutter ball.

These Windows Phone games may not turn you into the Big Lebowski but they are entertaining, all are free and well worth the try.  We will focus on four of the more popular bowling titles in the Windows Phone Store and if we've missed your favorite bowling game, let us know in the comments.

Windows Phone Central App and Game Roundup: Zombies Games meet Weather Apps

Three categories of Windows Phone titles come to mind as having the strongest presence in the Windows Phone Store; Zombie games, Weather apps, and Photography apps.  These groups seem to multiply faster than bunnies or flashlight apps.  Fortunately, while some may see these categories as over saturated, it's crowded with quality titles.  Which is never a bad thing.

In this week's Windows Phone Central Roundup, we focus on two of these categories, Zombies and Weather titles (we'll pick on the photography apps on down the road).  The Zombie titles in the roundup are some of our favorite titles that have been covered through the years.  The weather apps aren't heavyweight apps like the Weather Channel or Accuweather but they do a good job of keeping us up to date with what Mother Nature has in store.

Windows Phone Central App Roundup: The Nokia Collection

One of Nokia's key elements to success in the Windows Phone market was delivering quality apps and games to the Lumia Windows Phone line. We've seen quality apps such as Sophie Lens HD, AccuWeather, Benji Bananas as well as the line of Nokia imaging apps (Camera, Creative Studio, Video Trimmer, etc.) and navigation apps (Here) populate the Nokia Collection in the Windows Phone Store.

This week's Windows Phone Central roundup we take a look at four titles in the Nokia Collection that are among the newer members of the collection that may have snuck under the radar. We'll take a look at two games and two apps and fear not if you're sporting an HTC or Samsung Windows Phone. Three of the four titles are not exclusive to the Nokia Lumia Windows Phones.  While listed in the Nokia Collection, several of the apps the collection have lost their exclusivity or were released platform wide.

One of the helpful features of the Windows Phone Store is the Collections.  These are conglomerations of apps and games that fall in line with an underlying theme. Be it photography, shopping, sports or fitness these collections are a great place for one stop app/game shopping.

One gaming collection always seems to catch our eye is The Next Big Thing. It's a collection of games that the Windows Phone Store gate keepers see as having potential to hit it big.  It is also the focus of this week's Windows Phone Central roundup.

We spun the wheel and picked four of the games currently listed in this collection to highlight.  Three are very strong contenders for becoming the next big thing.  The fourth... well the fourth needs a little fine tuning but is on the right track as well.
