The Nokia Treasure Tags are now available at Verizon Wireless, with three colors listed on the carrier website. Priced at $29.99, these handy accessories can be attached to valuable possessions to prevent one from misplacing and subsequently losing said objects. The tags will alert the owner via an app if they're about to leave the tagged object(s) behind.

Verizon isn't taking too kindly to proposed regulations on an upcoming spectrum auction, and is hoping the FCC will change its ways before the sale opens next year. The auction, which will have extremely valuable 600MHz spectrum up for grabs in mid-2015, is expected to have restrictions imposed on it to limit big players like Verizon and AT&T from taking it all for themselves.

The FCC is proposing that the auction have rules that will limit any one company from picking up more than a third of the spectrum available in any given market. The goal is to open up the doors for smaller players like T-Mobile, Sprint and regional carriers to pick up the much-needed low-band spectrum, which is usually unobtainable because of the high bids larger carriers can put in.

Verizon's first quarter results are in, and mirroring rival AT&T, they saw some rather impressive growth. Verizon as a whole saw $30 billion in revenue, but even with their substantial non-cellular businesses, Verizon Wireless accounted for a whopping $20.9 billion of that income. That's an increase of nearly 7% from this quarter last year, though growth through their retail outlets was slightly lower.

Over the weekend, Samsung and Verizon launched the new ATIV SE sporting Windows Phone 8.0 with Update 3. We sort of forgot about this phone, since the 8.1 news became the main focus for us. But we decided to pick one up and give you a full on tour of the device.

As I mention in the video (which turned out longer than I had anticipated), the ATIV SE is a really sharp and elegant device. Sure, Samsung tends to give Windows Phone the cold shoulder, but even when they seem to be not trying they make compelling devices. The ATIV SE is no different and so far I’m quite impressed with it.

Let’s take a closer look

Verizon is finally going to give you a discount for off-contract phones. Starting April 17th, customers of Big Red are going to be able to bring their own off-contract devices onto shared MORE Everything plans at a discount. No longer will they have to pay a subsidy fee for a subsidy they're not using. Plans at or under 8GB will see a smartphone add-on reduction of $10 (bringing the fee to $30/month), while those with data allotments of 10GB or higher will see their fee sliced from $40 down to $25 per smartphone.

Turns out T-Mobile isn't the only carrier with some tablet data incentives this week, as Verizon has just posted its own promotion for some "free" data. While it doesn't approach T-Mobile's offering of a completely free 200MB for the lifetime of your device, Verizon is giving customers who activate a tablet on one of its "More Everything" plans an additional 1GB of data.

Having been leaked a bunch recently, Verizon has now made its latest Windows Phone 8 device official by putting the Samsung ATIV SE up for pre-order. The price? If you're buying without a contract you'll be looking at $599.99, which jumps down to $199.99 on a 2-year agreement. Verizon Edge customers get it for $25.22 a month. Better still, for a limited time you could actually get two of them on Verizon's buy one get one free promotion!

Pre-paid plans are becoming a more-and-more viable option these days, especially if carriers continue to make improvements like Verizon has just done with the introduction of their new "ALLSET PLANS" (no more all-caps from here on out, mkay). These new plans start at $35-a-month for basic phones, but if you're smart and opt for a smartphone, it starts at a mere $45-a-month.

We have an interesting conversation going on over in the Windows Phone Central forums debating on whether or not the new Verizon Nokia Icon is too boxy.

WPCentral member Keith Petrovich poses the question after visiting the local Microsoft Store. The lack of colors also comes into question after seeing all the color choices with the Lumia 1520 and 1020 models.

Nokia US is going on the offensive with the Nokia Lumia Icon, coming soon to mobile operator Verizon. The Finnish company has released the above video, showing off the recording capabilities of the Windows Phone. The footage, captured on both the Lumia Icon and a Samsung Galaxy S4, illustrates how Nokia smartphones are able to both focus and capture scenes more effectively, leading to better results.

The Nokia Lumia Icon (aka Lumia 929) is no secret. The handset, destined for Verizon, has been leaked and known for months now. It was first known as the Lumia 929 and leaked around mid-September on a Chinese site. Since then we’ve seen video hands-on of the device and were even given some exclusive shots of the 1080P Windows Phone. We also shared all the specs of the flagship Verizon handset.

Now we’ve got some photos of upcoming cases for the Lumia Icon. That can only meant its release is near.

We've previously covered the mistakes of sales teams at numerous retailers and outlets in multiple regions around the world. The latest blooper appears to be located at a Fry's store in California where a consumer spotted what appears to be the yet-to-be-announced Nokia Lumia Icon. The overall design,1080p display and more gives it away. Not only was a dummy unit on display, but it was labeled as the Nokia Lumia 928.
