After Microsoft’s Xbox One Reveal event, we were not sure exactly how the console would fare in the marketplace. The original variation of the console, which was originally tied down by strict digital rights management protection created a backlash that we were unsure if Microsoft could shake even after their decision to rethink the decision. Do not be worried though – Xbox One is the most successful Xbox console sold to date.

Tonight marks an extremely important night for both the Microsoft gaming community and the Redmond based company itself. The March 11 launch of Titanfall by Respawn Entertainment marks the biggest launch to hit the Xbox One along with other platforms including Xbox 360 and Windows PC. Though the Xbox 360 version isn't due out until March 25. 

Microsoft is ready for the event and is going all out with the launch by throwing midnight parties at their various retail stores, but are you prepared for Titanfall?

When Xbox One was released in Europe, masses rejoiced that Microsoft’s latest console would include a free copy of FIFA 2014 or Forza 5. Meanwhile in the colonies, Xbox One users had no free game included and thus had to drop the value of an Xbox One along with another $60 just to get started.

Now, Microsoft is announcing that Xbox One consoles in the United States will include a digital copy of Forza Motorsport 5 for a limited time.

Game Hound is a Windows Phone 8 app that delivers a healthy database of gaming titles to your Windows Phone. The app also lists upcoming gaming titles with Live Tile support to countdown the days until release.

Add gaming news feed and lockscreen support to show upcoming titles and Game Hound is a Windows Phone app with potential. However, while the database is vast, the information on each title is a little on the thin side which holds this app title back.

In the twenty-first century, advertising seems to find a way to either sneak into our lives or take the more blunt approach and literally pop up in our faces. When we look into Microsoft’s initial advertising campaign for the Xbox One, it has been a vast improvement for public image in relation to the original downfalls and shortcomings of the Xbox Reveal event. The company in Redmond wants to do anything they can to improve that original image – even if it means paying off prominent YouTubers.

The famous German board game, The Settlers of Catan, has landed on Windows 8 for your strategy solving pleasure.  The game itself revolves around settlers building colony communities on the mythical island of Catan. The goal of the game itself is to reach ten victory points – scored by players for each settlement they own along with other various achievements.

The Windows 8 version of the game, which became available a few days ago, is stated to deliver the “legendary” game experience along with new “detailed graphics [to] take you to an utterly realistic Catan”. The game even allows users to choose between a 3D gaming experience and a classic 2D board game layout.

Sony may have a better track record with indie developers than Microsoft, but the company has been working hard to improve that. Microsoft has announced that the first Xbox One game to arrive through the Indie Development Program will arrive in the next few months. In fact, the Redmond team has thirty-two indie studios working on various titles for the Xbox One console.

For those of you who love both PC gaming and Windows 8 – you will be interested to know that Steam usage data for the past month shows almost a fifth of those utilizing the Steam client are now using the new O.S.

Are you expecting to be able to play the latest tiles on your new Xbox One as soon as you set up the new console? You'll be disappointed by a mandatory update that will be rolled out on day one. Unfortunately, the Xbox One is technically useless until the update is downloaded and installed (sucks if you won't have an Internet connection at the time), meaning there'll be no immediate gaming or app action.
