WIndows Phone 8 app

Another day, another popular app lands on Windows Phone 8. In this case it’s Find Me Coffee (www.findmecoffee.com), which has become the go to site for finding, well, you guessed it, coffee. The service is considered to be one of the largest databases in the world for coffee joints and users can sort by other criteria like if it is open 24 hours, has Wi-Fi or even seats.

The app has been on iOS and Android for quite some time but now the company has brought it over to Windows Phone 8 (they’re even advertising it on their site, natch).

If your Windows Phone 8 photos look a little soft when viewed from your phone, take a look at HD Photo Viewer. The app was created from the need to view sharper images from the developer's Nokia Lumia 920.

The idea behind HD Photo Viewer is that the softness and blurry images viewed from the Picture Hub's photo viewer is that image quality is reduced to improve performance and speed when you pan/zoom about the photo. HD Photo Viewer maintains the original quality to present your photos in a sharper fashion.

Burton and Nokia have always had a cozy relationship. They’ve teamed up in the past with accessories, sponsorships and more. Some recently notable activity between the two include sponsoring Roope Toneri, an insulator case, and the Burton app for Windows Phone. The app just got a new update that helps make it even better.

We’ve already showed you some of the cool camera features you’ll get with this lens app, but now you can do so much more. If you update to version 1.1.1 you’ll get two main features: the ability to track slope side data and track friends on the mountain.

You scream, I scream, we all scream for updates. Well, we don’t really scream for updates and that wasn’t as funny as I thought. Either way, you and I both appreciate a good update when we see one, that’s why we are going to talk about Newser moving to version 2.2 today. What’s new in the latest version for Windows Phone? Glad you asked.

The Windows Phone 8 app for Windows 8 has received a small update today. Moving the version markers from 1.1.2303 to 1.1.2410.

Unfortunately, there is no change log that we can find at the moment and this appears to maybe just be a performance and bug crushing fix. If you’ve had any issues along the lines of performance or bugs let us know if this update fixes anything.

Another unfortunate piece of news is the lack of features. The Windows Phone 8 app still pales in comparison as a syncing solution for Windows Phone 8 compared to the old day of Zune. You still can’t add Xbox Videos to your device as an example.

Are you seeing anything we’re not? Let us know below.

Windows Phone 8 Apps + Games

What's different about apps and games coded for Windows Phone 8?

While Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 7.x may look mostly the same, at their core the two operating systems are very different. As such, both OSs have a certain amount of overlap in terms of what software they can run but there are differences.

Although Windows Phone 8 is technically out most users are still waiting to get their hands on the new OS. Luckily, we're already seeing some major apps get bumped with new features such as CNN, SkyDrive and even Nokia's apps.

Rowi Twitter app is one of the more popular apps on the Windows Phone Store and they just posted a video showing off the new super-quick load time. The increase in speed is due to Windows Phone 8 just handling app launching and processing more efficiently, those 1.5GHz dual-core CPUs and in this case by removing the boot screen. The app also has the "fast resume" trick enabled whereby tapping the Live Tile after it is already running will not re-launch the app but instead just resume it.

No word on release but hopefully it won't be too long.
