Yesterday Rovio surprised us by releasing an Xbox Live version of Angry Birds Seasons for Windows Phone 8. No one ever announced that Seasons would be coming to Windows Phone at all, and it’s not exactly the newest game in the Angry Birds franchise. But considering how many people love Angry Birds, not to mention the frustrating lack of Xbox Windows Phone 8 games, the sudden appearance of Seasons is certainly a good thing.

Still, we naturally wondered if Angry Birds Seasons would also come to Windows Phone 7. Angry Birds Space and Star Wars did so, stripped of their Xbox Live features. And now, just one day after the Xbox Live version, Angry Birds Seasons has arrived on Windows Phone 7 too.

We heard rumours of this app being in development as far back as early last year but it is now available to download for Windows Phone. RSA securID tokens should be familiar to many who work remotely, they allow business to secure access to their systems.

The app is an important addition to the business credentials Windows Phone now exhibits as a platform for work and play. Having the token on a users smartphone allows IT departments to stop giving out expensive hardware fobs to its mobile workers. The app is compatible with devices running Windows Phone 7.5 and Windows Phone 8. Read on to find out more.

This one has just appeared for us in the Nokia Collection for Windows Phone 7, essentially a central place to get news, tips and apps for your Lumia devices.

The app seems to have hit the Marketplace a few days ago but could possibly have been released earlier if reviews for the app are anything to go by. We have reached out to Nokia for confirmation but in the meantime we take a look at what this seemingly new addition to the collection has to offer. Step inside, step inside.

Calling itself a ‘content discovery’ app in the Windows Phone Store, Nokia Xpress seems to sell itself a little short. At the core it’s designed to help save your data plan by reducing the size of webpages before sending them to you but there is much more here.

They have also built in the ability to create a slick looking personalised “magazine” from your favourite websites which are then made available to read offline. All this and more and has been rolled into one powerful app, its now left beta and is available to download today. We take a closer look at the final version.

We reported the other day on a new update for Nokia Drive+ Beta but it looks like Nokia haven’t forgotten about Windows Phone 7 users.

Arguably the more stable of the two versions, the Windows Phone 7 app performs like a champ and Nokia have now included the options for tailoring routes more effectively. Read on past the break to find out more.

We reported a few days ago on Alcatel’s entry into the Windows Phone space with their One Touch View smartphone. The budget friendly device will have a four inch display with front and rear facing cameras.

The handset will run the last version of the Windows Phone operating system, 7.5 and provide a solid spec for a very reasonable price but how will it be marketed? Today we see a video where Ricky tells us of his hopes and dreams. Step inside..

Previously when we saw the release of the Vimeo for Windows Phone 8 we noticed that it had vanished from the marketplace for Windows Phone 7. Whilst concerned that it was being pulled for the previous version of the OS we did have a hunch it might just be a marketplace glitch.

Turns out our hunch was right and the app is now available to grab and install again from the marketplace.

We wrote last week about the Samsung ATIV S and the ‘case of late availability’ but perhaps we spoke too soon. The Austrian T Mobile site is now showing the device as being in stock. Hurrah! ?

Many are waiting for the 4.8” monster phone from Samsung and while this looks like it could be good news, we’re unsure this is a sign of a rapid deployment or simply limited availability.

Today we have an in depth good look at the Alcatel One Touch Windows Phone handset, designed to compete in the lower cost segment it looks to come in around US $226.36.

While much of the attention is understandably on the higher end Windows Phone 8 devices there remains a pressing need to get lower cost devices into the hands of consumers. The Alcatel One Touch brings with it a good specification at a lower price point but stands out as the first Windows Phone without a dedicated camera button. Read on past the break to find out more.

We have received a note from the developer of Phonos that the recently updated Sonos controller app, Phonos is now on a half price sale in the Windows Phone Store.

If you are a Windows Phone user then you’ll likely already know that Sonos have abstained from making a controller app to work with their multi-room entertainment system for the platform. Phonos has been around for a while and we have reviewed it previously, it is now on a promotion offer until the end of the year.

We had previously reported on Ben Rudolph kicking off the newest campaign to convince non Windows Phone users there is another way

The new website brings the existing videos into one place and even uses live tiles to allow you to select each video. Ben takes on Android and even turns around a potential iPhone 5 customer, if anyone can, Ben can. They need one Ben Rudolph in every mobile phone store, who could say no?

There are some apps that really stand out for being genuinely useful and Bing Translator is one of them. The app was released some time back on Windows Phone 7 and has rightly proved to be incredibly popular due to its slick operation and advanced features.

The app has been updated to support Windows Phone 8 and you can now initiate the augmented translation mode by using the new lenses feature.

Speech has always been a part of Windows Phone and it has offered some nice ways of interacting with your handset by using your voice alone.

We have put together a guide that should suit those that are new to Windows Phone and also to those that have upgraded to Windows Phone 8. Interacting with voice recognition and commands can be a powerful and time saving way to use your phone efficiently and even safely.

Microsoft have just launched their Windows 8 operating system and with it bundled in Xbox Music which gives users paid and free ways to stream tunes and play local tracks too. At present though the app has a few shortcomings so it’s through this lens we’re going to review Music Info by Johnny Westlake.

By the same developer who brought us Artist Info for Windows Phone, we take a look at this highly visual music playback and discovery app and even catch up with the developer for a short Q&A at the end.

You know, we’re never shy of a great deal and it looks like we just turned up a corker of an offer. How does a Lumia 710 unlocked and offline sound to you?

That’s a cool $141 saving on the list price which is normally $300.00.

The Lumia 710 was Nokia’s first budget handset and came out along with the Lumia 800 but was a little overshadowed by the polycarbonate hero phone. The Lumia 710 has tons going for it, often the photos of these devices does not do it justice, its actually quite distinctive. I have had plenty of time with the 710 and highly recommend it, it has the same internals as the 800 too. Want to know more....?
