We love gold, especially Microsoft's Games with Gold program for Xbox Live members. June is the first month that Xbox Live Gold members will get access to free games on their Xbox One. In a particularly classy move, Microsoft has announced that anybody that intends to cancel their Xbox Live Gold subscription because they're getting entertainment services for free starting in June will get a prorated refund on any previously purchased Gold time. That means if you bought and activated a year's worth in December, you'll get 6 months-worth of cash back (June through to next December). Refunds will take six to eight weeks to process after the request has been made following the June system update and before the end of August.

If you've never really been happy at the fact you need a Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to access Hulu and Netflix on your Xbox there's a good chance that requirement could be gone soon. It's something that has been on the table for a while now but according to Arstechnica, multiple sources have now been briefed on the matter ahead of June's E3 expo.

Microsoft India has kicked off a new Gold Rush promotion for Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers. The promotion is open for all gamers with a Gamertag profile registered under India, Singapore, Taiwan, and Korea and continues till June 30, 2014.

Free Xbox Live Gold this weekend for US and Canada

Microsoft has a Valentine’s Day gift for the US and Canada. Xbox Live Gold member benefits for Xbox 360 will be free for all Xbox Live subscribers from February 14-16th. This is a good time to check out the latest entertainment experiences on Xbox 360, if you’ve been holding off. Online multiplayer gaming will be also be available for free, but additional subscriptions may be required to access select apps.

Microsoft's next-generation video game console is set to sport free, ad-supported Xbox Music streaming. Albert Penello, head of product planning for the Xbox One, confirmed in a Twitter message that this would indeed be the case. While the Xbox Music streaming would be available without charge to consumers, Panello states that advertisements would be experienced periodically.

If you are currently enjoying the Xbox Live Gold Family Pack your days are numbered. Starting August 27, 2013 Microsoft will begin converting each activated account in the Family Pack to individual Xbox Live Gold memberships.

If you are planning on getting an Xbox One, this shouldn't be an issue with the new Home Gold feature that allows for the sharing of membership benefits. However, if you're sticking with the Xbox 360, it kinda sucks.

Microsoft has posted details on how you will be able to share digital games on your Xbox One console as well as well as outlining the new Home Gold feature for Xbox Live Gold members that will let you share your membership benefits with others..

Marc Whitten, Chief Product Officer at Microsoft, explains that everyone in your home can share digital games with each other. The Xbox One will become a gaming library filled with the titles that different players in the house have purchased. Any player can select any digital game on the Xbox One console, sign in with their gamertag and play.

Additionally, you can share digital games when you are signed into another console and any games purchased on that console will also be available on your home Xbox One console.
