Previously we reported that Microsoft will be giving a special white edition of the Xbox One console to team members of the Xbox division. If you are consumed by the fire of jealousy, consider this to be some good news: supposedly an insider source in China revealed that the white next-gen Xbox One will be available to the consumer market some time after the console's initial launch in late November.

According to Bloomberg, Microsoft has plans to grow its upcoming television programming selection beyond the originally planned Halo series on the Xbox One. Phil Spencer, corporate vice president at Microsoft Studios, declined detailed comments to Bloomberg yesterday at the Tokyo Game Show, but showed Microsoft has full intentions to invade your living room.

The critically acclaimed interactive action-adventure video game, Heavy Rain, landed on Sony’s PlayStation 3 in February 2010 and was an instant hit with fans around the world. Heavy Rain landed impressive scores including a 9/10 from IGN and a 9.5/10 from Game Informer. Now a lite version has been published that sports the first level to give you an insight into the gameplay and whether you feel it's worth the price tag. Users in many foreign countries won’t be able to command their Xbox One via voice command this November when the console launches. Sources are beginning to report that the fine print on Microsoft’s website (you know, that little bit of text you never read) states that the voice command feature will be limited to only a few areas at launch.

Team members of the Xbox One division might just find a special gift under their trees this holiday season – a special white edition of Microsoft’s latest gaming console.

An image was leaked on Reddit by user Kinect10DLL and showcases a white Xbox One unit with the inscription “I MADE THIS” engraved on the front. Xbox team members will also receive all one player launch titles, a year of Xbox live (something you imagine wouldn't be hard to obtain for someone working on the Xbox team), and a special Live achievement.

Want to get a hands on demo of the Xbox One and a chance to play a few launch titles before any of your friends? If you live in the Seattle, Washington area then you are in luck.

Microsoft’s Major Nelson will be holding an Xbox Meet Up at the Microsoft Store in University Village on Thursday, August 29th from 7:30pm - 9:00pm. According to the Major’s blog post, attendees will be able to join members of the Xbox team to play a selection of Xbox One games that will be featured at PAX the day after.

Microsoft is ready to go all out for their new video game capture suite, Upload Studio.  The recently announced Xbox One application will allow gamers to capture video game footage, edit to their heart’s content, and then upload it to the web to share with friends. In an attempt to attract users to the new service, Microsoft is launching the Upload Outreach Program.

If you have yet to receive the memo, Games for Windows Live Marketplace has been shut down for good as of yesterday. Microsoft states that userswill no longer be able to purchase new content through the marketplace, but previously purchased software will still be available to re-download. As Microsoft’s Xbox platform switched from Microsoft Points to local currency, the Games for Windows Live Marketplace was left behind in the dust.

Microsoft has unveiled its digital self-publishing indie developer program for the Xbox One, essentially enabling developers to self-publish their work for consumers to enjoy on their consoles. The program is titled Independent Developers @ Xbox (ID@Xbox - www.xbox.com/id) and the company promises a smooth experience regarding actual development, distribution and discovery of titles on the Xbox One digital store. Registration has opened today.
