DEAL OF THE WEEK: Save 70% on the DICOTA Hard Cover for Nokia Lumia 900!

accessories

This is pretty odd, it seems as though the cradle for the HTC Titan will be available after the device arrives to stores. Sure enough this isn't a biggie and will give users ample time to get used to the massive 4.7" screen, but it's strange to see an accessory that's required for one of the selling features of the handset (alarm clock, etc.) won't be available for a while.

SmartphoneShop.nl (as well as HTC Netherlands) is showing the HTC Titan release date as October 4th, while HTC Accessory Store (both for NL and UK) has the cradle accessory delivery estimation for 50+ days. So we have October for the handset and November for the cradle/dock? For us Brits it's not so bad as Amazon has the HTC devices (both Radar and Titan) as October 15th.

Source: SmartphoneShop.nl, HTC Accessory Store (UK), thanks Sebastiaan for the heads up!

Gelaskins - Review

We mentioned the Gelaskins last week, liked what we saw and ordered a pair. Gelaskins are adhesive, protective skins for your Windows Phones that comes in a wide assortment of patterns. You also have the ability to order custom skins using your images.

First, the ordering experience went smooth. We ordered a stock skin and a custom skin for the Samsung Focus. Creating the custom skin was simple using Gelaskin's online wizard. The order shipped within twenty-four hours of placing it and, shipping UPS ground, the full turn around was six days. Not too shabby considering the order involved a custom skin.

The order arrived packaged with the skins in cardboard envelope that was inside another cardboard envelope. Sturdy enough to significantly reduce the chances of the skins being bent or folded in transit.

To read about the fit and feel of Gelaskins, slide on past the break.

We ran across an interesting case for your Windows Phone. Gelaskins are a removable cover for protecting and customizing your Windows Phones. I guess it wouldn't qualify as a "case" but it looks as though it will offer some level of protection from scratches and scuffs.

The skin is attached to your phone by 3M adhesive that leaves no residue and allows for repositioning so you can get the most perfect fit possible. The skin has the appropriate cut-outs for microphones, ear speakers, volume keys and the what not.

Gelaskins has a decent selection of skins available for a nice selection of Windows Phones including the Samsung Focus, HTC HD7, HTC Trophy, LG Quantum and the Samsung Omnia 7.  Gelaskins also makes skin covers for laptops, gaming consoles, tablets, and other electronic devices.

If you can't find a skin design that suits your fancy, you can always create a skin from scratch using your own photograph or art work. Most skins will run $14.95 and will include the wallpaper to complete your skin appearance (emailed to you once your skins ship).

For more information, head on over to Gelaskin's website. We've got two skins ordered and we'll get a review up once we get them in hand.

It's unusual to read so much into a leaked T-Mobile accessory road map.  However, with this road map, we might have a better idea when T-Mobile will have Windows Phone 7 devices available.

TmoNews has obtained an accessory listing with availability dates that show items such as a HD7 Charge Shell coming on November 15, 2010 or a HTC HD7 Leather Sleeve (black) arriving November 1, 2010.

There are two schools of thought on this. One has the accessories coming after the actual device hits the market.  This would have the HD7 landing on shelves late October.  The other has the device and accessories landing at the same time which puts the Windows Phone 7 device on shelves early November.

Either way, that holiday season target date that was set by Microsoft way back in February is still looking really good.

Sprint Touch Pro Accessories - the Basics

While the Sprint Treo Pro has been getting quite a bit of attention lately, the Sprint Touch Pro is still my device of choice.  I've found that I am much happier with it now that I've built a cache of some basic accessories to deal with things like the lack of a 3.5 mm headset jack and a touchscreen that almost begs to be scratched.  So let's  take a look at several accessories that you may want to add to your carry on bag the next time you take a trip or simply to make life a little easier while at the office.

HTC Advantage Docking Station

Jenn over at pocketables found that HTC Advtange docking station we glimpsed a few days ago. Looks like you can import it from the UK for 70 pounds (or $140US or so, plus shipping, natch). For those of you keeping score, that's in the neighborhood of $300 less than a Foleo will set you back - that's assuming you have an HTC Advantage, though. If you don't, well, move along, nothing to see here.

Read: HTC Advantage docking station costs $140 (Thanks, Jenn!)
