One of the more challenging aspects of owning the Nokia Lumia 920 is finding a case for the Windows Phone. The challenge being that the 920 works rather nicely in the buff.

One option we've been patiently waiting for is the Nokia CC-1043 case for the Lumia 920. The case is very similar to the Nokia Gel Cases for the Lumia 900 but the CC-1043 cases haven't been as readily available. We finally got our hands on one of the CC-1043 cases (which really needs a better name) and took it out for a spin.

Gibbage Cases has been a roller coaster, grass roots effort by Windows Phone enthusiast Kevin "Gibbage" Miller. Miller was looking for a simple case to protect his HTC 8X with three principles in mind; protection, design and function.

The end result was a unique case that offered a buffer between the 8X and harsh surfaces. The Gibbage Case may not offer much protection from falls but it should protect the soft outer coating of the 8X from scratches and rubbing thin. We received a Windows Phone 8 theme version (complete with the Windows Phone Central Logo) of the Gibbage Case. We took it out for a test drive over the past few days and found it to be a nice option for those who prefer a minimalistic approach to their cases.

If opted for the black Nokia Lumia 920 and are looking for a way to add a little color to your Windows Phone, take a look at the Incipio Ultralight Hard Shell. Even if your Lumia 920 is already bright and colorful, the Incipio Hard Shell can give your phone a little variety.

Along with adding color to the Lumia 920, the Incipio Ultralight also offers a little protection to your phone from scratches and minor dings. Not sure how well it would protect the Lumia 920 from drops though.

Ballistic Shell Gel Case for the Nokia Lumia 900

We've cover a handful of two piece, shell cases for the Nokia Lumia 900 from the Otterbox Defender to the CaseMate Tough Case. Now we can add the Ballistic Shell Gel case to the mix.

The Ballistic Shell Gel is your typical two piece design with a rubber case that wraps around your Nokia Lumia 900 and a harder shell that wraps around the rubber portion. The Ballistic Shell Gel case does offer a decent amount of protection but also adds a bit of bulk to the Lumia 900. The trade off may not appeal to everyone but all in all, the Ballistic Shell Gel is not too shabby of a case.

The Amzer Hubble Bubble case for your Nokia Lumia 900 is an interesting little case. The design of the Hubble Bubble is a skin case that wraps around your Lumia 900 that fits the Windows Phone rather nicely. Much like the Amzer Shellster ShellCase, the Hubble Bubble fits snugly with no loosey-goosey feel about it. The dimpled pattern on the back and firm fit does make it stand out from other shell cases.

Making the Hubble Bubble a decent choice to consider if your in the market for a simple shell case for your Nokia Lumia 900.

From launch, Nokia has offered a Gel Case and a Bumper case for the Lumia 900 Windows Phone. The two cases offer minimal protection, mainly against scratches.

The cases are constructed from a rubbery plastic that is thick enough to maintain durability without adding any thickness to the Windows Phone. Each case style comes in an assortment of colors and each run $20. They both have a degree of appeal but after using both for a few days, I couldn't help but think Nokia could have done better.
