It has been a rather busy day with a lot of articles being pumped through our feed so we figured it would be a jolly good idea to wrap up the discussions that are on-going in our community.

We've opened up two new forums for the HTC 8X and HTC 8S, which were both unveiled by HTC today in New York. If you're considering purchasing one of the two new Windows Phones from HTC, be sure to head on over to the designated sections to engage with other readers in relevant discussions.

We've not had a From the Forums roundup for a few days due to an overwhelming focus on Nokia and the recently announced Lumia hardware. We can only cover so much before you begin to repeat previous threads. Unfortunately this appeared it would be the case until the HTC event, but luckily there's enough happening surrounding the iPhone announcement, as well as other general discussions.

Nokia announced the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 Windows Phones on Wednesday at its joint conference with Microsoft. Unveiling new features and functionality, including wireless charging, PureView camera technology, and PureMotion HD+ display, Nokia certainly delivered. We've now added new forums to cover these new Windows Phones.

It's a relaxing weekend holiday with Labour Day just around the corner, but Windows Phone Central is still full steam ahead with the run up to Nokia's announcement (as well as other OEM hardware). Welcome to your almost-daily catch up of what's been happening in the Windows Phone community. The popular Windows Phone Central forums have been a busy place over the last few days, so what's the latest hot discussion?

In a poll conducted this past weekend here at Windows Phone Central, 7,640 participants voted on the top-three features (out of an optional nine choices) they wanted most in Windows Phone 8.

Although the full consumer feature list has yet to be revealed by Microsoft, due to the leaked SDK a few weeks ago a lot of the new options have been detailed already. In turn, we asked users what they thought was missing (or we saw no evidence for) in Microsoft’s next-gen mobile operating system.

The results are certainly interesting and by large margins the top three choices by users are clearly discernable...

Now that the dust has settled, the previously rumored story that Microsoft was ditching the term ‘Metro’ seems to be holding true.

The claim was that the German company Metro AG made a complaint to Microsoft over the term and while it seems specious to us it was evidently enough to get Microsoft to immediately cease all usage of the name.

Ed Bott over at ZDNet has a good article articulating the point that Microsoft was not using ‘Metro’ as a code-name but instead used it dozens of times in press conferences, keynotes and developer documentation thereby making it offiial. In turn, he finds their public reasoning for abandoning the term ludicrous. We agree.

Microsoft is expected to reveal a follow-up name to Metro, used to describe their minimalist design principle based off of metro (airport, subway) signage, sometime in the next week. While we wait for that name to drop, we want to know what you think it should be called?

Yesterday was a fairly huge day in the world of Microsoft news  with the unveiling of Outlook.com, the successor of Hotmail.
