To celebrate the launch of the Surface RT tablets, Microsoft is giving away a twelve month Xbox Music Pass ($99 value) to the first 100 people in line at their local stores.

There is also the hint of additional Xbox prizes to be given away at the launch events.

While the news of Samsung's ATIV S may have gotten us distracted, we haven't forgotten about the Metro Elements for Windows 8 contest. We asked readers to let us know in the comments which app or game they would develop for Windows Phone or Windows 8. We then picked ten winners at random from the entries.

The prize... a license for the Metro Elements pack from Mindscape. We received 88 comments with suggestions ranging from a game based on the Sherlock Holmes movie series to a Canadian topography app to an app to control a remote control airplane.

Take a photo with your Lumia 900, win a $50 gift-certificate!

While we have been critical of the Nokia Lumia 900's camera in the past, both Dan and I agree that after updating to Tango the Windows Phone camera has much improved.

In celebration of seeing the fixes to the Lumia 900, we're having a short photo contest show off the new camera enhancements. There's nothing fancy to the giveaway but there are a few rules...

You probably wouldn't have guessed it, but here at WPCentral we love two things: Windows Phone and our readers. That's why when redeemable Xbox Avatar codes for Windows Phone gear caught our eye during a press event, we grabbed a handful and ran. It was a close call but with the help of the good ol' rubber chicken with a pulley in the middle, we managed to escape with 30 of them (15 for each sex).

Here's what you need to do to enter our little giveaway here:

1. Comment on this article. Anything will do, really. But make sure you specify which code you want -- either male or female. Otherwise we'll laugh at you when you don't get a code.
2. (Optional) Share this with friends via your choice of technology. (See the social buttons at the bottom of this post.)

Do you reside in the US and fancy winning a brand-spanking-new Lumia 900? Who wouldn't? Microsoft has kicked off a new weekly sweepstake, which will see the software giant handing out a Lumia 900 each and every week until August 31st.

As with any sweepstake, you'll be required to fill in your personal details, email address, favourite colour and - of course - answer which shoe you put on your feet first. Unfortunately this sweepstake is only available to those who live in the US and is unfortunate (but the norm) for outsiders to be left out.

Nokia recently brought along an official Windows Phone app for Six Flags amusement parks. The app enables users to view a map of their local Six Flags, locate services and points of interest within the park, and check out all the available rides (with intensity filters), plus much more. Part for the deal between the two companies is for the Lumia 900 to be advertised and promoted throughout the parks.

Now Nokia and Six Flags are running a sweepstakes where entrants could win a Lumia 900 and four tickets to any Six Flag theme park in the US. Pretty neat, eh? There are six prizes to give away, so be sure to get your entry in to be in with a chance of being picked. As usual, you are required to be 16 or above, and can only enter one person per email address per day, through July 31st.

Nokia is having another giveaway contest over on Facebook. This time they are giving away three Nokia Purity Stereo headsets (in-ear) and three Nokia Purity HD Stereo headsets (over ear).

Entering for your chance is about as easy as it gets. Just head over to this Facebook page, tap the enter button, fill in the blanks and your done.  When you submit your entry, you can choose the style and color of headsets you prefer.

Closing date for entries is June 14, 2012 at 16:00BST (British Summer Time). If my time conversions are correct, that would be 11am EST on the 14th. Winners will be contacted by June 28, 2012 by email. Good luck everyone!
