Verizon to offer red Nokia Lumia 822 for Valentine's Day

What better way to say, "I love you," than with a Windows Phone? Verizon will reportedly be offering their Nokia Lumia 822 in red and for under $50. The already available black, grey and white models sell for $49.99 with a two-year contract, so we likely won't see a price drop. No precise date has been given yet for he red Lumia 822, so keep an eye out for it.

Greece embraces Windows Phone with new holiday ad

Greece may have 99 problems these days but Windows Phone ain't one 'em.

In a new ad from Vodafone, four Windows Phones are featured in a pretty funny take on organizing a holiday party. The ad highlights the Samsung Omnia W, HTC Titan, HTC Radar and then features the Nokia Lumia 800 in all its multi-color glory, showing how that company's namesake still carries a lot of weight in international markets.

We always like to see our friends world-wide get into the Windows Phone craze and this ad goes a long way in helping to promote these new devices.

Hyper Defence XT Christmas Edition

We've seen Bubble Birds get into the Holiday spirit and now the popular tower defense game Hyper Defence XT is getting into the spirit as well. The Windows Phone game was updated to version 2.0 and brings a new Christmas Bonus level to the full version.

Hyper Defence XT's update also adds:

New difficulty settings (easy, medium and classic)
Level awards to win depending on the difficulty
Six new enemies to deal with.

Hyper Defence XT has 16 levels of play (17 with the Christmas Bonus), 8 upgradeable defense turrets, and a Survival Mode where everything but the kitchen sink is thrown at you. We found Hyper Defence XT (here's our review) to be a very good tower defense game for your Windows Phone.
