HTC has released its unaudited October 2012 financial report, which displays a YoY (year-on-year) decrease in revenues of 60 percent. Last month the manufacturer revealed it brought in NT$17.2 billion ($588 million), down from NT$44.114 billion ($1.5 billion) during the same period in 2011. It's not looking rosy for the Taiwanese handset maker, but how can it look to improve?

Rumors are coming in that Nokia and HTC will launch their Windows Phone 8 handsets in China simultaneously next month. To be exact, Nokia is throwing a launch party, partnered with China Mobile, on December 6th in Guangzhou, while HTC's party (appears to be on its own) will happen the next day in Beijing.

Nokia, Samsung and HTC have poked fun at one another within the Windows Phone ecosystem, but it has remained in the jester spirit - we're sure even Samsung must have smirked at Nokia's "Welcome back to Windows Phone" stunt. But it seems it's HTC's turn again by highlighting the weight of the 8X compared to 'the other Windows Phone'. We all know which handset is being referred to.

Although Windows Phone 8 was announced last week, we’re still waiting on Verizon to announce some dates for their release (luckily pricing was mentioned).

Windows Phone Central just received some internal training documents that share some points for reps to sell the phones to customers. What’s more, we have the first written confirmation of wireless charging for the HTC 8X. From the training document, Verizon notes the following: “Wireless charger is built in so you can charge your phone wirelessly with a wireless charging pad (sold separately)”

Wireless charging for the HTC 8X was first reported by the Verge a few days ago and although we had little reason to doubt them, it’s still nice to see that feature officially listed in these documents. Indeed, that really is a huge selling feature for what is already an excellent device. Although the 8X doesn’t match the AT&T-exclusive Lumia 920 in some features, HTC can check that off as not being one.

The HTC 8X is now showing up as available to order at Clove, Expansys and O2. We quickly highlighted this availability in the 8X Metro newspaper advertisement, but it's surely worth an announcement of its own with consumers eager to make a purchase.

We are always on the lookout for pricing and availability information for the upcoming Windows Phone 8 devices but this one has taken us by surprise.

How does 20,000.00 Euros sound to you for a grey HTC 8s? It seems Amazon thinks that High-Rise Yellow has really got some value to it.

While Verizon is slated to offer the HTC 8X Windows Phone, the company may go a step further and add wireless charging to the 8X.

The variation will be similar to what we've seen with the Nokia Lumia 920 and will not add any bulk to the phone. Speculation has the wireless or contact charging feature being an exclusive to the U.S. market.

If this holds true, wireless charging will be an interesting option to help the 8X compete with the Lumia 920.

UK retailer Phones4u is starting to prepare for Windows Phone 8's arrival by setting up demo stands and promotion material in stores across the country. We've been sent in a collection of shots that show pricing, availability and exclusivity of the Lumia 920 - it's not all bad news.

Last night I was finally able to get my hands on all the Windows Phone devices here at the UK launch event. The impressions are by no means reviews but simply my feelings at this crucial hands-on moment.

Here are my thoughts from the evening as I get my hands on the HTC 8s and HTC 8x, Samsung ATIV S, Lumia 820 and of course the Lumia 920.

Phew! Today was fairly eventful, was it not? While not an awful lot was announced by Microsoft, we did manage to see Windows Phone 8 be formally launched into the wild with handsets confirmed for carriers in a number of markets. Welcome to our round-up, which will be useful should you had been absent through the presentation.

Rogers has unveiled in a portion of its media event in Canada today that it's the preferred carrier in the country for Windows Phone 8, which is a claim we can certainly believe with the arsenal of handsets it's taking through to 2013. It's also set to be the first carrier in the world to sport the Lumia 920.

HTC 8X Windows Phone photo samples

HTC's brought its top-notch camera hardware to the Windows Phone 8X, including an 8MP rear shooter with f/2.0 aperture and BSI (backside illuminated) image sensor. In addition, there's a specially designed HTC ImageChip on-board for faster photo capture. What that means is some pretty impressive stills. Check 'em out after the break.

With today's announcement of Windows Phone 8, Microsoft shed a little light on hardware availability. Windows Phone 8 devices will become available through various European providers this weekend. We will see U.S.. and global availability roll out through the month of November.

In the U.S.. Market look for look for Verizon to offer the Lumia 822, HTC 8X and a new Samsung Odyssey (December release). AT&T will offer the Lumia 920, 820, and the HTC 8X. Pricing was not made available for Verizon or AT&T and availability was described as "sometime in November".

Test Mobile.fr have got their hands on a Lumia 920 and took it for a ride around Helsinki, Finland. As well as trying out the stabilisation in PureView to compare the camera against the iPhone 5 when recording, the team also looked more closely at the photography aspect of the Windows Phone. Namely, low-light capturing.

Verizon HTC 8X (L) and the Nokia Lumia 822 (R)

As we get closer and closer to the big Windows Phone 8 reveal on Monday, some more tidbits are coming out about Verizon.

In this case, a tipster sent us these lovely photos of the HTC 8X (in “California Blue”) and the all-white Lumia 822, a phone of which we have never seen “real” photos of before but only a render in white. Personally, we think the device looks darn good in white and is a better choice than black (the other color it comes in).

Other info: the tipster confirms the leaked prices we had from earlier in the week. The Lumia 822 will be $99 on contract while the HTC 8X will go for $199—substantially more, but worth it for some due to its eye-catching looks and higher specs.
