Soul Gambler is a rather interesting role playing game for your Windows Phone. Not only in the game play itself but also in that game's future hinges on a Kickstarter project's success.
Soul Gambler is a interactive story game where you control the direction of the story and the fate of the main character. You play the role of Faust who is given a chance to sell his soul for the life of his dreams. The interactive comic is an interesting game and in a way a tease of things to come if the developer gets enough support from his Kickstarter campaign. Soul Gambler may not appeal to everyone but it does make for a unique Windows Phone game experience.
The Windows Phone 8 advertising juggernaut pushes on here in the UK with the start of a huge ‘out of home’ (OOH) interactive campaign.
We have already seen a massive push from Microsoft here with the likes of TV advertising, Billboards and even events to “meet windows phone”. This time they are taking an interactive approach to showing off Windows Phone 8.
TVCatchup is an invaluable tool (with support for UK channels) for any Windows user who watches television and finds themselves frequently checking catchup listings. The app, available for both Windows RT and Windows 8 devices, enables users to watch over 50 live national television channels with an interactive programme guide for details and times.
While this is far from official being a part of the growing Kinect Homebrew scene, what this demonstration of a Xbox 360 Kinect, Windows Phone and Grand Theft Auto proves is that come 2012, we could be set for some truly unique game play.
The sensor here is using a custom "KinDriver" app which allows you to control the character using the phone, in addition to virtual steering with just your hands.. The fact that this as been done on the homebrew level already is quite impressive, so lets just hope some of the big game houses are working on the same. The combo of Kinect and Windows Phone could be the biggest thing for Windows Phone in 2012...if done big.
