laser

There’s not too much to say about this one except here are the first almost official images of the Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 aka ‘Laser’ that is due sometime this month (which was revealed previously in our forums).

The images were leaked by @evleaks, so we’re sure they’re legit.

The Lumia 928 is supposed to be the Verizon/CDMA counterpart of the Lumia 920 but with some minor updates, including a supposed Xenon flash, which is clearly visible next to the adjacent LED and a slightly thinner frame (though not as thin as ‘Catwalk’). Otherwise, it shares the same 4.5” LCD display, 1.5GHz dual core CPU. Current memory allocation is unknown though it is thought to be 32GB.

Thoughts? Sound off in comments and remember, there will probably be more colors than just boring black, so don’t be too hard.

Things are starting to heat for Verizon users as more and more information is coming out about the ‘Laser’ Lumia 928, an updated version of the Lumia 920. In our forums, an employee of Verizon (‘Honestabebread’) posted that “Easter time” was the release window for this phone, and now the Verge is claiming that the phone is coming in April.

The phone will reportedly feature an aluminum body (versus the current polycarbonate) and as a result be thinner and lighter than the current 920. In addition, the flash will be upgrade to a xenon-LED flash combo. Other features include a 4.5-inch OLED display and support for simultaneous voice and LTE (SVLTE) with a look more resembling a Lumia 720 (squared) than the current 920.

The Lumia 928 passed through the FCC way back in February, meaning the device should be cleared for release soon.

According to an alleged screenshot from Verizon’s internal systems, Nokia’s new variant of the Lumia 920 for Verizon will get the designation of 928. What’s more, the information has been listed in Verizon’s system with a January release, indicating that perhaps this device was delayed a bit with internal testing.

Indeed we recently did catch a Lumia variant heading through the FCC a few weeks ago and the reported device codename is ‘Laser’. Not much is known about the device except that it may have an aluminum body to help reduce the size and that a big marketing push may be accompanied by its launch.

Windows Phone Game Review: Laser Leisure

Laser Leisure is a rather interesting game for your Windows Phone. The game is challenging, yet mildly frustrating. Game play is simple but requires well thought out strategy. I'm still not sure if I like Laser Leisure. There were a few glitches along the way and some of the levels are down right frustrating. However, if you like puzzle and logic type games, it's worth a try (glitches and all).
