Here in the US, the only way to get a top notch Nokia device has always been with AT&T. That’s about to change with Verizon rumored to be getting two killer devices from Nokia. We’ve already covered some rumors in the past regarding Big Red and Espoo, but here’s another to get you stoked for the coming year.

Nokia plans to unveil another Windows Phone, codenamed EOS this year, according to sources familiar with company plans. The Verge has learned that the device is set to include a similar sensor to which is found on the Nokia 808 PureView. The optics upgrade would further advance Nokia's imaging technology, as well as provide yet another high-end Lumia Windows Phone for consumers.

Looking for an exciting Windows Phone deal for the New Year? How about $199 for an unlocked 4G Lumia 900? That's right, 1 Sale A Day currently has the Nokia Windows Phone 7.x smartphone listed online for that exact price. While it's not the latest Lumia 920, the previous generation handset is no slouch and will be powering Windows Phone 7.8 in due course.

In planning for the next round of Windows Phones, indications are strong that Nokia is working on an aluminum body for a high end Lumia model.

Codenamed Catwalk, the aluminum Lumia will be lighter and thinner than the current crop of polycarbonate bodied Lumias. The Catwalk would replace the Lumia 920 as Nokia's centerpiece Windows Phone.

No word on hardware specs or when we might see the Catwalk beyond "later this year".  Catwalk is sure to be a hot topic of discussion next week at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show.  We'll be in attendance at CES and if we hear more on the new aluminum Lumia, we'll pass it on.

The Windows Phone 7.8 update for Lumia smartphones is reportedly available through Nokia Care i.e. local store/support centers, scattered throughout the world including parts of Europe and India.

According to a number of tips we've received (mostly from India), the anticipated upgrade for those who remain on legacy hardware is available should official support channels be unavailable. Users can simply bring in their phone and have them updated right there by Nokia, even before the "early 2013" date.

According to the latest rumor, Nokia has just cancelled its plan of showcasing new products at the upcoming CES in January 2013. Instead, the Finnish phone maker is now cooking up some surprises for Mobile World Congress 2013, about one month after the CES (Windows Phone Central will be at both events).

People have been expecting Nokia to bring up the next wave of Lumia devices, and probably more powerful Pureview goodies, for CES 2013. The month-long postpone could be a sign that Nokia indeed has something up its sleeves, and is needing a little bit more time to polish it. Let's just be patient.
