We have been tipped off that Lumia 822 orders have been pegged as being shipped today. One of our readers tried to pre-order with no luck, but then logged into their account and upgraded through available channels. A confirmation email was sent stating that the order would ship today.

This could be very good news for Verizon customers indeed, we have yet to hear from anyone that has received a Lumia 822 so we’re not going to get too excited right now. We’d certainly like to hear from any of you if you’re seeing similar order confirmations. If you have one already be sure to let us know too.

We previously looked at the news of an unlocked Lumia 920 working on the T-Mobile US network, but now reports are being published at XDA and beyond that Lumia 920 Windows Phones being sold by Canada carrier Rogers are all carrier unlocked--that's pretty big news, but also it has seemingly been confirmed that it has pentaband support.

While we wait for more concrete details from Verizon we can at least see that Nokia’s next generation Windows Phone 8 handset has been priced up on the Best Buy’s website going for a neat $99.99 on contract.

The Nokia Lumia 822 which is a variant of the Lumia 820 is seen here in its rather fetching white attire along with the option to buy “unactivated” for $549.99 if that’s how you want to play it. Otherwise you can opt for a two year contract and stump up just $99.99.

Nokia, Samsung and HTC have poked fun at one another within the Windows Phone ecosystem, but it has remained in the jester spirit - we're sure even Samsung must have smirked at Nokia's "Welcome back to Windows Phone" stunt. But it seems it's HTC's turn again by highlighting the weight of the 8X compared to 'the other Windows Phone'. We all know which handset is being referred to.

We've previously seen retailers and carrier stores get things wrong. Whether it be labelling Windows Phones as Android handsets, or by listing incorrect specifications - mistakes can happen. But what about publishing incorrect pricing for the latest Nokia flagship? Australian retailer Harvey Norman made that very mistake when revealing the price for the Lumia 920.

It's always frustrating to buy a fancy piece of gadget, only to find it's about to phase into a forgotten generation soon enough. That's the case with people who have bought Lumia 800 and 900 recently. Technically the best Lumia phones today, but are to be rendered primitive by the Lumia 920 within a few weeks. Many have complained about this and the lack of a full Windows Phone 8 update for existing Lumia devices. Apparently Nokia has listened to feedback provided and is about to something to ease the pain. As least in China.

Nokia has published two videos on its UK YouTube account. The two videos are UK advertisements for the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 Windows Phones that were announced last month. Windows Phone 8 launched last Friday, and it's time for Microsoft, carriers, retailers and OEM partners to get cracking.

Last night I was finally able to get my hands on all the Windows Phone devices here at the UK launch event. The impressions are by no means reviews but simply my feelings at this crucial hands-on moment.

Here are my thoughts from the evening as I get my hands on the HTC 8s and HTC 8x, Samsung ATIV S, Lumia 820 and of course the Lumia 920.

Phew! Today was fairly eventful, was it not? While not an awful lot was announced by Microsoft, we did manage to see Windows Phone 8 be formally launched into the wild with handsets confirmed for carriers in a number of markets. Welcome to our round-up, which will be useful should you had been absent through the presentation.

Test Mobile.fr have got their hands on a Lumia 920 and took it for a ride around Helsinki, Finland. As well as trying out the stabilisation in PureView to compare the camera against the iPhone 5 when recording, the team also looked more closely at the photography aspect of the Windows Phone. Namely, low-light capturing.

While we ramp up for the launch of Windows 8 next week there is still a fair few questions about pricing for Lumia devices.

Someone has spotted the Lumia 820 going for the sum of £379.99 on a system. As with all such pre-pricing, this could be fact or fiction as nothing has actually been revealed on pricing as yet.

Once again Nokia is going after a certain demographic with their latest exclusive app: L'Wren Scott (www.wrenscott.com).

The app is quite unique in that it allows you to check out photos and videos from L’Wren’s fashion shows, behind the scenes info and where you can purchase her pricey creations.

Nokia has published its financial results for Q3 2012, which shows the interesting position the company has found itself in. Smartphone sales have fallen drastically, as well as net sales from the division. Likely down to the imminent Windows Phone 8 release and new Lumia family of smartphones, Nokia experienced a 56 percent drop in net sales. In Q2 the company shipped 4 million Lumia devices, a steep decrease indeed.
