We've all been there. Glancing at the Windows Phone lock screen to find that the battery saver has kicked in with a good few hours to go until a charger can be utilised. This is where portable chargers can be rather handy. Nokia is set to release a stylish charger, called the DC-18, which looks very much like a Live Tile.

Nokia's new product announcement in London is less than a week away, and as usual, the product to be revealed just got leaked in advance. Citing unnamed insider source, Chinese tech site WPDang claims that Nokia's London event is about just one device: the previously leaked "Catwalk" aka Lumia 925 930.

Catwalk reportedly sports a shell design with a mix of polycarbonate and aluminum, as depicted in the leaked picture up above.

The Nokia Lumia 928 is arguably the worst kept secret in the world of Windows Phone handsets. We’ve known about it for quite some time and have pieces of its existence surface frequently. Nokia even put the device itself up on their website last night. Without an official announcement to boot. Here’s a new video and image of the device.

AT&T is pushing out a Windows Phone update for the Nokia Lumia 900. We saw the Lumia 900 make the jump to Windows Phone 7.8 back in January and the latest update takes the OS version from 8858 to 8862 (2175.2307.8862.13100 to be exact).

According to NokiaCare, the update adds theme colors, lock screen improvements, fixes Live Tile issues and makes updated Nokia apps available.  This is likely similar to the update Microsoft pushed out back in March to fix the issues we experienced with the original 7.8 update.

Life as Lions is an up and coming rock band from Los Angeles, but the members are also major Windows Phone fans. The group decided when they moved from Houston to Los Angeles they would record the journey using their Lumia 920 smartphones and use the footage for a music video. The above is the end result.

Nokia has a number of events lined up for the month of May, including a global announcement tomorrow in New Delhi, India. The company has published a new post on its official blog to detail webcast times for those unable to attend. What are we expecting to see from the company? We'll put some money down on new Asha products to follow the recently announced Asha 210 or even a low-end Lumia Windows Phone.

If you're wondering, "what on Earth did I just watch?" Fear not as we're still asking ourselves that very same question. Nokia Thailand has published this interesting and rather seductive promotional video for the Lumia 920. The Windows Phone is paired with a young lady who enjoys noodles, taking self-portraits and being slightly cheeky with the arrival of a mystery male.

Today brings yet another glimpse of the Nokia Lumia 928. Whether Nokia's deliberately putting up billboards and magazine ads or they've lost control of their ad agency isn't clear (we'd bet on the former), they've successfully managed to build up some buzz without saying anything official. Just today an ad for the Lumia 928 popped up in Vanity Fair, with a link to Nokia's website for the image above.

"Capture the highlights" the ad implores, and though the Nokia page doesn't say anything about the phone's name, the image's file name certainly includes the phrase "Lumia-928". While the Nokia page doesn't spill any deets, the fine folks over at Engadget got a look at the ad in Vanity Fair (not really our rag; we're more GQ and Vogue folks) and like the billboard from this weekend, it touts the Lumia 928's low-light prowess.

Just as the Lumia 521 is selling away in the US, the Lumia 520 is now available in Ireland for a low price of just €129. O2 Ireland even has a deal open for just €109, but has since sold out. Either Nokia is once again having issues with producing enough units or we're seeing signs that the Lumia 520 is going to perform rather well.

The Lumia 521 from Nokia is on sale on the Walmart website for just $129.99, but has sold out almost immediately. The deal was covered on SlickDeals with subsequent updates that the online store reported the Windows Phone to be out of stock. The Lumia 521 is proving to be a popular device indeed.

Nokia will be showcasing the next chapter of music discovery in Canada on May 15th. This follows the 14th event in London, where it's believed the company will be unveiling its next Windows Phone. It was only yesterday when we looked at Nokia utilising the Lumia 928 at an invite-only event in New York City, but now we're seeing advertising already kicking off before the hardware has even been announced. The shot above shows what appears to be a billboard showing off the Lumia 928 and its low-light camera capabilities. Looking good, right?

Microsoft and Nokia are planning to tackle the smartphone market and hit hard with new low-end hardware, according to a report by Reuters. With multiple high-end products from Nokia, HTC, and Samsung already available, the company is now looking at the cheaper price points that attract a large portion of consumers. The Lumia 521 is such a Windows Phone that Microsoft hopes will win over the minds of consumers.

The Nokia Lumia 928 has reportedly been seen in disguise in New York City during a private Nokia concert held for "social influencers, lifestyle and consumer media". The Nokia Blog notes that numerous setups for recording video with supposed 928s in a thick black case was observed, and even a few Nokia folks had them closely guarded.

Nokia is believed to be announcing the mobile phone in the near future and should this report be accurate it can't be long now.

When you picked up your Nokia Lumia 920 a few months back you probably had a color in mind before heading to the store. Maybe you wanted Cyan or Yellow to stand out from the crowd. But you get to the store only to have your selection limited to whatever was on hand. You could have waited for more colors to come in, but you said screw it and took black because you wanted that Windows Phone 8 goodness right then and there. You could throw on a case and get a new color, but you’ll lose out on the beautiful industrial design of that high-end Lumia.

Why not just swap the shell?

When the Lumia 520 was announced at Mobile World Congress a few months back it was set to be the most inexpensive Windows Phone ever. And it really is, we’ve seen it go for $240 on eBay and for $190 in India. If you’re up in Canada you can get it for an insanely low amount of $150 through Koodo Mobile.

Nokia has updated its protest app, #2InstaWithLove with yet another filter. As the name suggests, the company is shouting out to Instagram, who still have not released an official app with all the bells and whistles for Windows Phone. The new filter is Nightshot, which (again, as the name suggests) is an effect that makes a photo look like it was taken in low light conditions.
