Take the optical image stabilization found in the Nokia Lumia 920 and combine it with a sport makes the North Korea situation look stable and you’ll have the following video. Nokia UK teamed up with Ryan Doyle (free running World Champion) and parkour genius Will Sutton to produce an awesome video showing off the stabilization in the Lumia 920. Don’t worry if you’re not sure of the difference between freerunning and parkour (c’mon, is there really one?). Just enjoy the video after the break.

Orange in France has the Lumia 520 listed on its website. The Nokia Windows Phone 8 smartphone is the cheapest device the manufacturer has released, running Microsoft's operating system. Announced back at Mobile World Congress earlier this year, it's good to see the device heading to more mobile operators across Europe. So how much will consumers have to pay to pick one up?

Since first being captivated by the beauty and excellence of Nokia's Lumia family of Windows Phone devices, people having been wondering if Nokia would follow Microsoft's lead by creating a Windows-based tablet, like the Surface. While we're nowhere closer to learning the answer to that question, what we do know is that Nokia had their sights on building a tablet back in 2011.

It was reported a few weeks ago that Nokia was preparing a firmware revision for the Lumia 920 (and other Windows Phone 8 Lumias) that would continue to bring Nokia’s vision of how a Windows Phone should be to fruition.

That update is now being referred to as PR2.0 and we have an exclusive quick glimpse of some of those new features for you.

There's nothing worse than your Windows Phone taking some physical damage as the appearance of a smartphone is fairly important, especially when it's a Lumia 920 or other Windows Phone. There's really only one instance when an issue can prove more irritating and that's when the software (or a combination of it and hardware) royally breaks and thus bricking the device. How useful is a bricked Windows Phone? Well, it's good paperweight, I suppose. This is what happened to my poor white Lumia 920. Let me tell you a short story of what happened and how quickly the issue was resolved by Nokia.

Nokia previously announced plans to shut down the flagship store in Shanghai China, but now the Finnish manufacturer has closed its doors and ceased to accept customers at its brick and mortar establishment. The flagship store in Shanghai is the latest in a series of shutdowns on Nokia's retail front.

The Lumia 800, a Windows Phone that launched back in 2011 was taken into the depths in Oulu, Finland on Saturday. Kiiminki Egyptian Timo was diving and handed the Lumia 800 to a friend to take photos for the trip album.

Unfortunately the ice broke and the friend (as well as the Windows Phone) fell into the water. One would immediately assume all is lost and a new smartphone will need to be purchased, but it booted up when recovered.

We’re still unsure about the supposed “Lumia 950”, a successor of the 920 with some upped specs including 2GB of RAM, better battery life, Xenon flash and a higher megapixel camera which we reported on last week. But now, a new image of a supposed Lumia 950 in yellow has showed up.

The Lumia 900 was a popular Windows Phone and still proves to be a thorn in the back Windows Phone 8 when we're looking at the usage margin between version 7.x and 8. The Nokia device has been taken on a backpacking tour around Europe. Windows Phone Central reader Matthew Cosentino is originally from Melbourne, Australia but has uprooted his life by quiting his job, selling his business and decided to move beyond the border. The past 8 months has seen the Windows Phone owner travel across Europe, focusing more on the Eastern side.

The Nokia Lumia 920 has taken the #1 sport in the Windows Phone ecosystem, according to latest figures released by AdDuplex. The developer advertising platform for both Windows and Windows Phone notes that the Lumia 920 has overtaken the Lumia 800 to become the most popular Windows Phone in the world.

We've been tipped by Matt (known around the web as @RogueCode - he used to fire up some content for Windows Phone Central) that a few drunken friends have attempted to smash up a Nokia Lumia 920. The Corning Gorilla Glass really shines when battered by a beer bottle.

There’s not too much to go on with this story but evidently a new Nokia phone, RM-877 (RM-877_nam_att_205) with a 1280x768 display has been caught in the web of AdDuplex.

As to what RM-877 is exactly, we cannot discern. The good news is that being 1280x768, it can only be a 9xx series or higher phone (Lumia 8xx have 800x480 displays, as does everything else below it). From there we can speculate that this is either a Lumia 920 refresh or the anticipated ‘EOS’ phone with a high megapixel camera akin to the Pureview 808, which will be sold alongside the current Lumia 920.

Smartphone Madness 2013
Vote for the Nokia Lumia 920 to knock out the Blackberry Z10 in the LAPTOP Smartphone Madness finals!

While we have the Windows Phone App Star contest winding down, we have another March Madness style contest reaching the finals. Laptop Magazine is running the "Smartphone Madness 2013" contest to see which smartphone on the market is the most popular.

The field of sixteen smartphones has been widdled down to two with our Nokia Lumia 920 facing the Blackberry Z10 in the finals.

Currently the Lumia 920 has a very comfortable lead over the Z10 (62.8% to 37.2%) but we shouldn't see this as an easy victory. Our friends over at Crackberry.com have sounded the alarm so this may end up being a close contest when all is said and done.

Every vote counts and to help keep the Lumia 920 and Windows Phone out in front, head on over to Laptop's site and vote. Voting ends Monday, April 8th at 9am EST so spread the word and get out the vote!

Thanks, everyone, for the tips!

There’s not too much to say about this one except here are the first almost official images of the Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 aka ‘Laser’ that is due sometime this month (which was revealed previously in our forums).

The images were leaked by @evleaks, so we’re sure they’re legit.

The Lumia 928 is supposed to be the Verizon/CDMA counterpart of the Lumia 920 but with some minor updates, including a supposed Xenon flash, which is clearly visible next to the adjacent LED and a slightly thinner frame (though not as thin as ‘Catwalk’). Otherwise, it shares the same 4.5” LCD display, 1.5GHz dual core CPU. Current memory allocation is unknown though it is thought to be 32GB.

Thoughts? Sound off in comments and remember, there will probably be more colors than just boring black, so don’t be too hard.

Source: @eveleaks; Thanks, B_Rad89, and everyone else, for the tip!

Note: Image above is merely a concept device, not the Catwalk

We’ve been hearing about the Nokia ‘Catwalk’ for some time now (not to be confused with Verizon's 'Laser', though they may be analogous), a sister device of sorts to the Lumia 920 but with a focus on an aluminum chassis to make it more nimble. Now, Italian blogger and personality Flavio has revealed the supposed specs for the device.

Is there anything revelatory? Not really. The device will feature the same 4.5” display but with octaOLED, S4 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 16GB of storage (down from 32GB), 2000mAh battery and an 8.7MP OIS camera with Xenon flash (Correction: no Xenon flash, but LED instead). No mention of a microSD card for expansion, however.

The Daily Telegraph has produced a list of bestselling mobile phones over the last 40 years. While we celebrate the 40th Birthday of the mobile phone, what's interesting to note is how Nokia dominates the list with 13 of the spots taken by hardware produced by the Finnish manufacturer. Unfortunately no Windows Phones are present, but this illustrates just how strong the Nokia brand is.

Although by all accounts Nokia Lumia 920 owners are some of the happiest (and proudest) smartphone users out there, no phone is perfect and neither is any firmware update.

Recently, the 1308 firmware for Windows Phone 8 Lumias has begun rolling out, starting with AT&T and just this week heading out to other carriers globally.  Now, we’re getting numerous reports that the update, while adding advanced Storage Tools, improving sensors, tweaking some camera settings and more, has wrought some issues with the radio.

Indeed, from our own experience we too have witnessed these oddities with data and phone connections on our white AT&T Lumia 920 (clean install of the 1308 ROM). What makes the problem hard is it is not easy to quantify e.g. on occasion, it shows the phone being connected to LTE but data either trickles in or doesn’t come at all (both for uploads and downloads).
