Note: Image above is merely a concept device, not the Catwalk

We’ve been hearing about the Nokia ‘Catwalk’ for some time now (not to be confused with Verizon's 'Laser', though they may be analogous), a sister device of sorts to the Lumia 920 but with a focus on an aluminum chassis to make it more nimble. Now, Italian blogger and personality Flavio has revealed the supposed specs for the device.

Is there anything revelatory? Not really. The device will feature the same 4.5” display but with octaOLED, S4 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 16GB of storage (down from 32GB), 2000mAh battery and an 8.7MP OIS camera with Xenon flash (Correction: no Xenon flash, but LED instead). No mention of a microSD card for expansion, however.

The Daily Telegraph has produced a list of bestselling mobile phones over the last 40 years. While we celebrate the 40th Birthday of the mobile phone, what's interesting to note is how Nokia dominates the list with 13 of the spots taken by hardware produced by the Finnish manufacturer. Unfortunately no Windows Phones are present, but this illustrates just how strong the Nokia brand is.

Although by all accounts Nokia Lumia 920 owners are some of the happiest (and proudest) smartphone users out there, no phone is perfect and neither is any firmware update.

Recently, the 1308 firmware for Windows Phone 8 Lumias has begun rolling out, starting with AT&T and just this week heading out to other carriers globally.  Now, we’re getting numerous reports that the update, while adding advanced Storage Tools, improving sensors, tweaking some camera settings and more, has wrought some issues with the radio.

Indeed, from our own experience we too have witnessed these oddities with data and phone connections on our white AT&T Lumia 920 (clean install of the 1308 ROM). What makes the problem hard is it is not easy to quantify e.g. on occasion, it shows the phone being connected to LTE but data either trickles in or doesn’t come at all (both for uploads and downloads).

Nokia has announced that both the Lumia 720 and Lumia 520 are launching in Italy. Both the cheapest Nokia Windows Phone and mid-range Lumia smartphone will be aggressively priced and marketed to further push the platform in the market. Windows Phone has done well in Italy, according to previous market share reports so the two new devices should do well. But how much will the Windows Phone 8 devices cost?

Reports have flooded in that the 1308 firmware update for Lumia 920 Windows Phones, which improves photo quality and implements the tool to help consumers manage the pesky "Other" storage, is rolling out in multiple European markets. The update has already been released in the US, but Europe wasn't far behind.

Our Nokia Lumia 520 just showed up on our door steps today, so we figured we’d share the news with the largest Windows Phone audience in the world.

For those who don’t remember, the Lumia 520 was announced by Nokia a few weeks back in Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress. It, along with the Lumia 720, represents the completion of Nokia’s “range” of Lumias.

Nokia has updated its Music app for Lumia Windows Phones. The manufacturer has implemented a number of requested features that'll further enhance the user experience. It's not a huge release, but a number of annoyances have been addressed, not to mention a few bugs squashed. We last looked at Nokia Music being updated back in December.

We have a fairly strict policy here at Windows Phone Central when it comes to rumors (believe it or not). For the ones we stand behind or sound confident in, it’s because we know the source and can vouch for their access. Other times though, we can’t and we won’t. This is the latter case, so be forewarned.

This image above of an alleged Nokia Lumia 950 prototype landed in our email box a little while ago and included some interesting details about the supposed forthcoming device.

The Nokia Lumia 920 is available in a decent range of colors including black, white, cyan, red, yellow and in some places gray. A new color has surfaced on Nokia Jordan's Facebook page, green.

Call it spearmint, pastel green, lime green, or just plain old green we think it looks good. While pictured on Nokia Jordan's Facebook page there is no information on when or if this color option will make it to market.

We can only hope that if a green Lumia 920 sees the light of day, other carriers will pick it up (along with the gray). Hint, Hint AT&T.

The other day, we doused some cold water on the rumor that the Nokia Lumia 810 on T-Mobile would get a firmware update to enable its LTE radio for that carrier. Seeing as the chipset is a SoC Snapdragon S4, it’s typical for such setups to have features there but not enabled (either by request, OEM choice or lack of proper APIs)—in other words, it’s totally plausible.

Reader of the site jgbstetson emailed the president and CEO of T-Mobile about the update and had his question pushed to the right people in the chain of command (much like Nokia, evidently you can get a response from the bigwigs at T-Mobile).

The Lumia 520 was announced by Nokia at the end of last month during Mobile World Congress. It’s a noteworthy phone because it’s currently the most affordable Windows Phone to date. It’s now available for pre-order in India through Flipkart for Rs.10499.

Yesterday Nokia announced Lumia 520 and 720 for the Chinese market in a theme park in Beijing. We have reported the estimated date of availability as well as the retail price, so there's nothing really new here. One little thing about the announcement caught our attention: Lumia 720, the Lumia 720T customized for China Mobile's TD-SCDMA network, will come with a CMMB mobile TV module.

China Multimedia Mobile Broadcasting (CMMB) is a mobile television standard, mostly supported by China Mobile as a "killer feature" that defines the cellular carrier from its competitors. A phone with built-in CMMB reception module could snatch broadcasted TV programs over the air, without generating any data fee. Nokia has done various kinds of localization to adap to local markets. But adding a new hardware module to an existing phone model just for one carrier? I reckon that's something never happened before.

Nokia updates two system apps for Lumia line

Nothing too huge to report here but since we have a lot of Lumia readers, we figured we’d mention it. Nokia updated two of their systems apps today for Windows Phone 8, including Access Point (for setting your SIM card and carrier settings) and Nokia Feedback (which allows you to answer occasional poll questions directly to Nokia about your phone).
